Oh wow...so many memories. My mom had a manual red 88 2+2 (went against my brother and I pushing for the Starion) and it was a real treat when she'd let us take it out. I was 16-17 at the time, and man, had some fuuuun. I think this might be the only picture of it, my brother and his girlfriend (now wife) leaving for prom Gotta love the hair and music back then.
Good luck with the project!

I have a little bit of a rub near lock but if you are turned to lock on a track there are other problems already...

Welp RIP. This happened when I was doing some “spirited Driving” with my friend and a potential buyer of the saturn today. O well, another bullet on the parts list....

Gonna match nicely with my nrg wheel on the way. Planning on making a custom shift boot.

Yeah I have seen that vid. I am not too worried because I dont drive my car hard enough to put enough force in the right spots to break a wheel. I imagine once I start tracking the car I will invest in a better wheel.

Buy once, cry once. Any reason for buying a wheel?

Lol, the stock wheel is cracked, too thin, and oversized. Its really uncomfortable too me. I am doing these mods first so it can be more enjoyable whilst I drive and fix the stuff that is broken

Understandable. I know I had a tendency to throw money at smaller cheap mods so I could satisfy my itch to work on the car, but some times that leads to not having the money to do the big mods you need to do and/or having to redo the mods later since you bought inferior products.

Alright, I will keep that in mind. Also I havent researched enough but my fuel gauge is broken. When its full it reads 3/4s tank. And it goes down past the empty mark. So I think the floater is fine. Can I just move the tack to full when the tank is actually full. Will that correct the issue?

car will not idle. I am pretty sure its not getting fuel. I know I have a full tank because I filled it up on thursday and have only driven 70 miles.

Fixed it! New fuel filter, spark plugs, and spark plug wires. Also painted this little engine cover and I like it. Used grill spray paint lol.

Nice, I was going to suggest starting with the fuel filter. Splice in a good see-through one if you don't already have one. Preferably before any other filter you may have going to the engine. If nothing else you'll be able to tell if you're pulling fuel out of the tank when you're having issues and rule that out. You may need to replace your tank if you're pulling up rust flakes.

I already have a new one that is opaque. I will definitely consider that if I have to get another one (I heard filters are a usual problem with the Z31’s). When I was trying to figure out the problem I un plugged the line running to the injectors from the filter and put the end in a bucket. Then turned the key for the pump to prime. I was getting fuel but I guess it was not enough fuel/fuel pressure. but I fixed it. Going to be doing a whole fluid maintenance. It should be done by now but I have other things that I have grow up and take care of :|

Well learned my lesson from buying from ebay. Fake wheel and this is my “hub adapter”
Bought a real nrg wheel. Dont think its gonna bend, because its not a rep wheel. Also returning the nardi wheel.
Did an oil and coolant change. Oil took 10mins and coolant took 4 hours. On Z31s you can only drain the radiator and then you have to get to a nut (the drain nut) to open the thermostat to allow the coolant from the reservoir flow through the radiator. Well The drain nut in not reachable, even with universals :|. Yes universal”S”. So I made this because of course the turkey paster was too short to reach. sadly I already drank a lot of water so joe and I had to take turns drinking the coolant. Was a lot but tasted very sweet...
Filled up the reservoir and to max and tried to heat up the engine to open the thermostat. For some reason that didnt work so I yeeted it and put coolant in the radiator as well. Somehow it worked and now the car is perfectly at max in the reservoir as well as staying at correct operation temperature.
Planning on doing my powersteering fluid as well as my transmission fluid friday with the mm boys and hopefully joe. I want to do it with at least one person that has done it before because those seem like more difficult tasks and I dont know if Joe and I would be able to do it correctly first try. Since this is my daily driver it needs to be done correctly.
O yeah also dipped wheels. Looks good but want new wheels. Looking for tuner wheels, hopefully 18”. The tire side wall is huge and want to minimize that. Also want to show off my sweet 80’s calibers!

Its part of the look of the car - and the period - IMO, I wouldnt go with larger wheels & shorter sidewalls.
