Hey all! I ran into some of you at MAAP during a Cars & Coffee event a week or so back and figured I'd join up and make an intro. I've been part of the VT car club (better known as CCVT) for like 5 years now (since I started at VT) and recently moved back up to Hburg for work.
Enough of the boring shit. Here's my Volvo. (never heard that one before, have ya?) It's fairly stock considering I got it 3 weeks ago, but I have plans. (and hope to have some new wheels/tires on it by this weekend if they ever get delivered.....)
'11 C30 R Design 6MT
In addition to the 'ole moosemobile I've got an '04 4Runner...
...and a slow 4-cylinder Honda that needs a new front tire at the moment
Looking forward to meeting up with you guys!
Wow, that's enough variety to land you in favor of most people here. Welcome!

Welcome and I'm with RJ, more of the Volvo. I briefly considered one just like what you bought, and picked up a Focus ST instead. The Volvo is way cooler.

Can never have too much variety when it comes to vehicles
The Volvo is a *bit* of a unicorn. Only 20k or so C30s brought over to the US between '07 and '13. There are ~3,000 2011s. The guesswork begins here since Volvo doesn't actually give out detailed production numbers (I've asked). Probably 1,000 of those were R Designs (upgraded suspension, interior trim, exterior aero stuff). Gonna guess around half of those were 6-speeds. So, I'm happy I was able to find this one. I went to Delaware to get it lol
So far I absolutely love it. It's a blast on back roads and the 2.5L T5 has TONS of torque everywhere.
Here's an interior pic. I'm a huge fan of the light/dark contrast in the seats. I did also find myself some OEM 'C30' floor mats after taking that pic just to keep things nice. It's looking pretty good for 94k miles.
These came in the mail yesterday and some pearl black 18x8 +40 (stocks are 18x7.5 +52) Enkei TY5s should be showing up today or tomorrow. I actually really like the stock wheels, but all 4 were at least slightly bent when I bought it (enough that they eat through tires) and at $750 each for new ones...or $250 each to repair em....buying new wheels seemed like a better idea since it was in the plans anyways.
As of right now the only mod is an 'E Focus' engine torque mount that I installed since the OEM mount was toast and flimsy from the factory anyways. The passenger-side engine mount also needs to be replaced (I'll do that later this week, too).
My future mod plans include: drop-in filter (open elements don't really gain much), muffler delete, downpipe, intercooler, stage 3 tune (like 280-300whp/320-340wtq if I'm lucky. These don't make a ton of power on the stock K04 turbo, sadly), rear sway bar, EBC/Hawk brake pads....I'm sure the list will just get bigger lol
I've got YEARS of plans between my 3 vehicles at the moment. I've apologized to my bank account in advance.
Welcome! I've got those tires on my Si right now. They have been great so far (about 20k miles).

Yeah, my friends refer to em as "Jesus tires" since they're apparently pretty amazing for an all-season. I can't wait to try em
They have done surprisingly well in the snow recently. Plenty of grip in the warm weather and barely any road noise at all when they were new. Gotten a little louder as time goes on, but nothing out of the ordinary for a low profile tire.

ha, had 'em on my last car as well. only all season tire i'd probably buy twice in a row, which i never do. the garbage on my "new" used Si is a joke by comparison.
welcome. C30's are cool as hell and that is definitely one rare bird you have right there. being an old audi fan i get hot loins for 5 cylinder noises so i'm gonna have to request that you upload a video of the exhaust when you get that taken care of.

Yeah, the dealer put on "new tires" in the front ($80 Federals) and there are Nankangs in the rear with horrible cupping from the bent wheel/possibly bad alignment specs. Even with those it's doing great on back roads.
Oh I absolutely will I can hear just the tiniest bit of 'spooldown' noise with the stock exhaust, so I'm sure it's gonna be great once I free things up a bit.

That's good to hear! They seem to have decent siping so I'm not too surprised. I don't foresee ever driving it in the snow since I've got the 4 Runner, but it'll certainly see rain and cold. I also really didn't wanna run super sticky summers on it since it's my daily and I'd like to have my tires last. I dailied a FWD twin turbo swapped 3000GT for a while and burned through a set of summer tires in ~7k miles (they were pretty much dead when I sold the car). I could practically feel the tires (and my money) wearing away anytime I drove somewhere lol
HNNNNNNGGGGGG I'VE BEEN SLACKING AND NOT READING THE FORUMS YES YES YES WELCOME WELCOME WELCOME I'VE SEEN YOU AROUND!!
I was driving beside you on 81N the other day breaking my neck pretty hard. Would have been around 8:30pm. Think it was damp out and 90% sure you were following the 4runner maybe?
I'll be back in hburg next week. Let's meetup!

I noticed those yesterday and almost said something!
