A nice one with < 50k miles will cost you between 30-35k depending on condition/options/location/etc. They are nice cars, pretty quick with the 2.0t four and Dinan sells a solid tune for them. The 8sp auto is not quite as good as DSG, but damn nice if, say you had your leg chewed off by a bear and can no longer operate a clutch pedal.
Step back in time and E91 wagons with 60-80k miles will run you $15k for a nice auto or $20k for a nice manual xDrive car. RWD are more, M-sport even more tax but its all appearance stuff so... not sure if worth it.
Yeah, I did a search last night and this morning. There was a blue six speed E91 with the orangish/brown interior available in Columbus OH noted as "Newly Listed" - gone from from the listings this morning. I guess I need to learn from your experience - constant monitoring with cash in hand ready to go if I decide to go this route.

I have a little bit of a rub near lock but if you are turned to lock on a track there are other problems already...

Yeah, I'm still watching the market and saw that one. Often by the time the listing goes up its sold, and dealers are bad at taking down listings until long after the car has left the lot. I learned that one does not casually shop for a manual E91. Automatics tend to sit a little while longer and easier to buy. I'm glad I bought the one I did, there's been a little bit of a drought in the nice, 6MT, low mile cars lately.

This RS3 popped up at my office a few weeks ago. Good looking car for sure. 400hp from a 2.5L 5 cylinder. She's expensive though - starting at $54,900 [emoji15]

Holy shit!
Since I didn't see "right leg, testicles and dong" as included spare parts, I'm going to pass.
And the safety rules probably require a window net

If the owner refuses to post proper photos, I simply will not buy this car.

Shame on me for being lazy and not clicking the link. I looked at the photos and didn't notice it either. Don't blame me. If y'all are dumb enough to trust anything I say, that's your own fault.

No longer onyachin.
VW people - I spotted a really clean, blue MK5 R32 on the way into work today, looked lowered on BBS's. What's the deal with these beyond usual VAG nonsense? Solid drivers or terrible? Still the same amazing VR6 noises as the MK4? Kind of forgot these were ever a thing but it was a sharp looking little car.
Well it's a getting-on-ten-year-old VW product with haldex AWD, a VR6 and a dual clutch, so it ain't gonna be great...
Now: 07 Porsche Cayman S | 18 VW Tiguan
Then: 18 VW GTI Autobahn | 95 BMW M3 | 15 VW GTI SE | 12 Kia Optima SX | 2009 VW GTI | 00 BMW 540i Sport | 90 Mazda Miata | 94 Yamaha FZR600R | 1993 Suzuki GS500E | 2003 BMW 325i | 95 Saab 900S
its a big, heavy AWD cruiser where the old Mk4 was a bit lighter and more engaging. DSG only. a well setup FWD GTI would be a better driver, but if you want a point-and-shoot hatch that will slay snow and sound cool while you stroke your supple leather dashboard then they're a unique and rare car.

I would love an MK4 R32, but when I went casually looking for them a few months back the nice cars all had asking prices of $10k and up. No fucking thanks I dont want a 13 year old VW for that much.

i did the exact same thing. always wanted one in blue or black. they are becoming a bubble now, just like the Type R, M coupe, E30 M3, etc. they're either used-up heaps with half the dashboard lit up, or people are keeping them in bubbles in the garage.
still want one though.
