Let's see how true this thread title stands.
As stated in the diesel thread I got rid of the 2500HD. Really was too much truck needed for what I do/plan to do. I had this grand plan and reality set in. Live and you learn. I had enough self control to wait until I could break even in the loan to downgrade. Worked with current credit union to stay with the same great rates.
This won't be much of a project thread more of a documentation thread. I just hope the truck lasts a good while. Only a few things planned for it.
On to the goods.
2014 F150 4x4 SuperCrew Lariat with 44k miles. Looks like it was actually taken care of just judging by interior and exterior is almost flawless. Really really like the color combo inside and out. Never been a huge fan of red but this color is nice. Really nice. I also really don't usually like two-tone trucks but this color combo just really works.
Notable features:
- Heated and cooled package pleasure-ers, there are a lot of tiny holes in this leather, front bucket seats
- 10,000 way power adjustable seats
- Is this even real wood dash and door trim?
- High intensity I blind other driver's headlights
- This navigation system still has a 2014 nav card
- I will probably never off-road this descent control, skid plates, and 'off-road', baby soft tuned shocks
- I'm too lazy to get out of my truck power folding mirrors
- Eight or whatever amount of speaker, this isn't really worth the money, Sony sound system
- Why does my truck have a sunroof?
- I tow things, tow mode, trailer brake controller, and transmission cooler with gauge
- This is decent, Sync system with MyFord Touch system - I can actually tell this shit to change climate settings and turn on my package pleasure-ers
- My backup camera makes weird beeping noises when I hit things
- Remote start - for the days in the summer and winter when I'm feeling like a princess
- There is an actual f*cking power outlet in my truck
- Conventional hitch towing of 9,600 pounds
Plans are:
- New black floor liners for front and back
- Spray-in bed liner
- Hard folding bed cover
- Most likely a tune
Pics taken from the previous stealership as the one I bought from has taken the sale ad down:
That's pretty posh living in there! Great looking truck and since I can't be bothered to open a new tab and google, what did you give up in terms of towing from the coal burner to the eco boost? Will a tune get you more significantly more torques?

It's really nice so far. Upgraded in features, downgraded in truck size, and got a smaller loan. I'd say it's a win so far. I won't count possible longevity issues or re-sale value though :bootyshake:
F150 without heavy duty payload(11,200 pounds):
- Conventional with weight distributing hitch: 9,600
- Gooseneck (bed is too short for most trailers): :dunno:
Diesel:
- Conventional with weight distributing hitch: 13,000
- Gooseneck: 15,800
A smaller enclosed should do just fine behind the F150 and is all I realistically plan to purchase unless I somehow hit the jackpot. Just add some sway control bars since there is nothing built in for sway and be good to go.
Not sure on the tune part. Need to look into it and if the motor, turbos, and fuel pump can take the extra PSI and torque. I'd assume a lot since it's a V6 but not sure on the design and how much boost the current turbos put out.

its something absurd like 70hp/100tq for $600 bucks. exhaust/intercooler is like another 60-70hp. gains all over the damn place.

LOL.
I was planning on him possibly tuning the Miata now but I might be bringing the truck to him instead. 5 different maps is so nice. 87 economy tune + transmission then 93 tow, 93 performance, and 93 transmission. This thing will actually be quick even though it already is for a truck. They offer a warranty with the tunes as well. I just need to look up longevity of the tunes on fuel pumps and the turbos before I make the jump.
Something something, you're less of a man because no V8, grumble grumble.
Nice pickup! I will miss that bland, awful interior in the Chevy.

Nice! I also like that color combo. A few things - no skid plates unless you have the FX4 trim, sunroofs in anything are awesome, and the truck does actually use the ABS and trailer brakes (because you have the Ford brake controller built in) to combat sway if it detects something funny going on. Should still get weight distribution/sway control if you do an enclosed though.
Enjoy it

I thought the two tone was ugly on all the F150s until I saw this one. Not sure what did it but it works well.
I swear I'm going to forget about the sunroof and realize it one day. I'll have one of those "oh yeah I have this" thoughts.
Good to know on the sway control. Didn't realize it because it doesn't specifically list it in the options. I'll have to check that out. Would the brochure talk about that?

Weird, I thought only the FX4 had the skid plates. That may have been the case for MY2011 and things changed toward the final years of the 11th-gen. Given yours is the last year, I wouldn't be surprised if they added them to anything with 4WD.
Trying to remember about the sway control. I think I was flipping through the owners' manual and it said something in the towing section. It's not constantly correcting for sway, it's more like ABS where if you get too far out of whack, it will step in and try to help - I think it shows a message in the dash screen. It can modulate the caliper of each truck wheel combined with the trailer brakes (which are an all-wheels-or-nothing deal) to haul it down.

Good to know. Just did a quick search around and seems like it sway control is very invasive but does it's job. Regardless will be picking up sway bars if I ever end up with an enclosed.

This made me look up the times stock. 6.5 0-60 and 14.8 1/4 lul.
I doubt I'll go that aggressive of a tune to runs 12s but 93 performance/tow should be plenty fast. Not like it matters anyways but it would be hilarious to pull on some cars
So I did a thing... The turbos are way too quiet compared to the big one on the previous diesel. Decided I need to hear some spooling. I feel like this is the perfect amount now. It's still pretty muffled when windows up but when windows down this thing is hilarious now with the noises it makes especially when I remember it's just a truck. Sooo much spooling, wooshing, and turbo noises now I couldn't help but keep smiling and push the skinny pedal down more and more...
I also bought Jake's SCT tuner and waiting on Flim Flam to send me a tune file for the truck.. ![[Image: 04e8145a38da1b7785e549a6f8b3751a.jpg]](https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171022/04e8145a38da1b7785e549a6f8b3751a.jpg)

The truck has 4 auto switch. Need to do more research on if it stays in 2wd unless it detects slip or just interchanges between the two 4wd modes...
Now should I be using it often for fun? Yes.
Is it a good idea? Yes.
Will I destroy my transfer case over time? Yes but I won't hard launch it so hoping for lasting a good bit.
Will I leave traction control on? Yes.
Will I be smiling the entire time? Yes.
Will I record a launch with my GoPro for everyone? Yes.
