I used to work at a Porsche shop, broh.

Just because something is cool doesn't mean copying & pasting the color scheme onto a watch is going to look cool.

Shall we review?

This is cool.

You wouldn't rock a Martini coffee mug? Cold as ice.

Personally i was thinking about getting an inexpensive Seiko and adding a Martini nato strap to it for my racing watch fix. Mostly because I can't justify a Tag Monaco or Monza and will probably never be able to afford something like a Hublot F1 King Power:

I don't get it, you don't wear a coffee mug. I can see how some people don't do team apparel (although often those same people wear football/basketball/baseball stuff), but stationery and mugs are a very different thing IMO.

Ok fine, perhaps the coffee mug was a poor example. I should've found a Martini Racing Snuggie or pasta strainer or something.

Yeah that Hublot Ferrari is a whole different level of insanity. Literally costs as much as the car. I would have to have stupid money to buy a watch that costs as much as a new econo car, but that thing is into generational wealth territory oof

I would also use a racing pasta strainer. I wouldn't pay extra for one, but if I got one with the purchase of a new car, why not :dunno:

By the way, this was the brand I was thinking of, it's still in a kickstarter so who knows if they'll actually get made, but they look pretty nice.

That's the kind of "automotive" watch I'd get, personally.

Or if I had money I'd just get a Speedmaster which admittedly those Helrays are extremely similar too.

If you like that style you could also look at the Bulova Moon watch, affordable and available from a lot of retailers:

I would rock those Breitlings and I love most of the Tag Carreras.

I've had my eye on a Tag Formula 1 for like years now and just haven't pulled the trigger.

I feel like its casual enough to wear with jeans and a button up, but can be worn as a fancy watch with a suit. Its also not really busy like a lot of chronographs tend to be.

I'm pretty sure I posted this somewhere in the guilty pleasures thread but I shared it again today and it's a good "watch" (see what I did there). Say what you will about John Mayer but he really knows his stuff when it comes to watches (especially vintage) and is a true soulful collector. Nevermind the fact that he's got about $1M in watches laid out on that bar...

He makes a lot of great points about where the watch collecting passion comes from, what they mean to him and why it's not just about knowing what time it is:

Has anyone checked out Autodromo? Not exactly my style... but some pretty cool automotive themes. Newer brand, think they use mostly Seiko quartz movements, but the vintage automotive styling queues are pretty neat.

I was just looking back at my Amazon wishlist and I had a Autodromo on there but when I checked their website they don't sell it anymore =(

I do like their designs though. Nothing strikes my fancy enough to buy right now, but they've got some good candidates here and there.

Speaking of which those Helgrays look like budget Omegas with a dash of Tag. Really handsome.
