The Movie Thread
#1
Please stop me if there is already a thread for this, but I don't think the TV show thread is an apt place for movie discussion.

What's everyone's thoughts on the FF8 Movie trailer? I'm okay with them shoe horning F8 into the title. I know the movie is way over the top and has lost it's original charm, but I'll be damned if I don't go watch this in theater too, and I'm not even a big movie guy. I'm usually the first person to call out something jumping the shark, but something about this franchise just seems okay and I don't really feel like they're "Milking it." Of course they are, but it doesn't feel like it. So, plan on an MM event April 14th.

Without knowing anything at all and blindly watching the trailer, I'm confused. Are we actually supposed to believe that Dom turned on his "family"? Because that's completely out of character based on that last 7 movies. Of course I'll go see it in theaters though. Can't stop an 8 year tradition now.

You're not supposed to believe it. You're supposed to wonder why he has done it, and watch the movie to find out.

Right. F&F is a comic book in a movie anyway, so this is just Superdickery...

Trailer was awesome in a F&F way. The series needed some kind of plot twist, or at least the perception of one, to stay somewhat fresh after so many years. I mean Dom will probably end up pulling off a mask like Mission Impossible or something at the end, but I'll definitely see this one.
