Builds? Lol is that what they call slamming the car and putting ebay wheels on nowadays? Doesn't require much more than a sentence Wink

Taylor, sorry about the alumni being grumpy pants about facebook messaging. Maybe try again? Jake always seems active with that stuff. Maybe if they knew us a bit better by participating in their chat; they might be more prone to exploring what's outside of Facebook.

I'll be frank, nobody in the club right now has anything close to a build. Scott has his built Camaro, and our Secretary did a full engine rebuild this summer, and neither of them are active, which I'll not comment on in order to save my grey hairs. Chip posts about his car, and James about what he can get done to his Miata. Other than that, nobody has much done except for wheels and suspension, so they have nothing to post. Greg and I have been doing some stuff to his RX7 so there's that. I'm trying my best not to be salty and gripe about how hard it is to have a full build for a car when you are busy and don't have much money, but I know not to assume the comments aren't towards me. I've invited people over to watch when I find 5 minutes to do something to my car and to teach, but we really don't have that many people in the club that actually know enough to do their own things.

As for the group chat, no I have no desire to try it again with alums. If you want to join the current one, ask me. Jake, Joey, Zach, Matt, Sam, and a few other recent alums are all in it and it's great. It's by no means "current students only."

Someone please stop me if I'm rambling and/or digging a hole for myself. I'm currently drowning in work between 4 exams, 3 projects,2 papers, the apparel order, Turducken, getting people to the track in a week, tutoring installing James' exhaust over the last two days, my DC trip this weekend, interviews, applications, trying to motivate my officers to do their jobs, and work, so I'm pretty scatter brained right now.

If anyone has ideas to help with the student - alumni interaction, feel free to text me, email me, or send me a private message. The discussion over multiple threads is hard to track

As for builds, I was just joking around. I don't even post my own "builds" anymore.

Oh Jesus Christ if y'all really cared you'd find a way to the students, like Jake does (lo and behold, they actually know who he is). When students do come around to 'alumni space' Jake makes a ton more effort to talk to them than some alumni (lo and behold, they know who he is). You all barely relate to us anymore and we can't relate to you because you're too mature. Everything you see in us is young and dumb and like Gerald said once, no one is required to stay here and if its boring they're gonna leave. No one has a desire to talk in such great detail about all the stuff you guys do. We're talking about mainly 18-20 year olds here. Our heads are not in the same space. Do you even *really* want the forum cluttered up with us? Like get over it, if you really wanted to know them you'd find a way to rather than bitching at the ones who are here about the ones who aren't.

So back to the election.... Trump and Russia? Is lying Hilary at it again or is Trump Putin's puppet? You be the judge on this weeks episode of Election 2016.

OK, who can whip up a "match.com" like app real quick? I have an idea that could throw this election on its head. Just need to pair the "Voting for Clinton because a vote for "Other" is a vote for Trump" with all the "Voting for Trump because a vote for "Other" is a vote for Clinton" people. You meet at the polls, pledge to both vote for "Other", check their vote to confirm and submit. That way it's minus one for the person you hate and plus two for a new way forward!

We'll call it UberMatchVoteGram™. You will be Matched with a partner, Ubers will come get both of you at the right time and take you to the polls, you Vote, then post the double selfie to Instagram!

neither is as fun as getting to swipe through your matches like on UberMatchVoteGram™ so there's probably still market share to be had.

My app bridges the gap between steps 2 and 3 on "burnmyvote" and same issue with 'balanced", both are empty promises. Transplant matching services require all related transplants to happen together so there is no backing out on your promise. UberMatchVoteGram™ matches people at a more local level, they can encourage one another to stick to it and confirm they did. "People do what you inspect, not what you expect"

Maybe not enough time this year, but in 2020 when Clinton (Chelsea that is, because Hillary was impeached but on her last day killed the VP and appointed her daughter) is running against David Duke himself we'll need this so we can elect Elon Musk to rule over us from Mars.

Sorry I'm late to this but whoever said uploading images to forum needs to be easier gets my vote for president. Or am I mixing up what this thread is about?

But for real. I've had like ten things I wanted to post but imgur never seems to work for me and I tried to start doing that Facebook link thing but there's no way to get the actual image link on mobile (no right click) and I pretty much only use my phone and tablet for pretty much everything except I'll occasionally turn my old slow laptop on if I need to apply for a job with my resume or I need to whip up a google sketchup to visualize a project.

Edit: and the reason I left thr group chat was because it was damn annoying getting a thousand notifications in the first hour it was created. Even if you turn notifications off I'm pretty sure you still get the little red thing with the number of missed messages on there and I'm ocd and have to have all that shit clear all the time.

The first day of the full group chat with alumni wasn't even friendship. It was all the alumni saying they were piecing out (one notification) then actually piecing out (a second notification) times like 30 alumni. It was just annoying when you're trying to work and your phone is constantly going off.

And you see how off topic our threads get in here with people making jokes or posting random things. I know you all seem to manage in your chat but me personally, I'm just going to take a pass on that. Thanks for trying though. Don't get me wrong, never said you didn't try. And I don't make any effort to come out for things (mainly due to free time and lack of it) so I'm not going to complain if you guys don't come on here or if you don't become buddies with all the alumni. You do you. As long as the club is still standing and still drawing members and doesn't lose focus on what it's about (connecting people with a similar interest And/or passion) I'm perfectly content to sit back with some popcorn and watch how it goes. But don't get butt hurt when the alumni bitch because that's what we do. Mostly because we all wish our biggest problem was figuring out how to deal with a couple of big exams on a given week while still being able to get shitfaced at least once.

But back on topic, sorta, it doesn't really matter what you do with the club. After the next president (either one) takes office. We're fucked.

Fucked? Nah son.

In all truth, regardless of who wins The Republic will soldier on, largely the same as it always has. Go to sleep tomorrow night with the knowledge that it, truly, didn't matter who you voted for. FDR didn't destroy the country, the Ruskies didn't destroy the country, the Clintons didn't destroy it the first time around and the Bushes didn't destroy it the second.

Everything is gon' be ok, lil babe. Everything gon' be juuuuuuuuuust fine, whether we have Mr. President Hairpiece or Madam President Pantsuit.

I mean, unless you live somewhere that isn't the US. Whoo boy. Then you're totally fucked.

Well yea, I mean executively were fucked but they aren't going to change anything over night. One of my biggest fears which I'm not really actually afraid of is that no matter which one gets elexted, the rest of the government will hate them and there will be even more problems with trying to get stuff passed or done. But I guess that could be a good thing depending on how you look at it
