Jess' Mom has a brand new CRV. It's practical, good on mileage, and the interior is actually pretty decent. I think most mini-suvs are way too stiffly sprung/too much shock rebound but I assume that is to prevent the car from tipping over/wobbling. No issues a year later with her mom's car.
Lexus NX? I think that's where my mom is going after the E46 M3. How much does a used evoque go for? Are they shit boxes too or better?

Very true. Maybe a shrub or two on a good day. You've got me there. I'll sell it immediately and buy a mom-car like most alums seem to do.

Lol you talk shit boxes, and you ask if Evoque is better.
FYI - A couple months later now since we owned this LR4. Still love it. Thought the air suspension was a bit gimmicky for off roading but we love the "access" mode which drops the car so it's easy to get in and out of. It actually is awesome and makes the car much easier to get in and out of for the wife and her friends. The Land Rover Navigation unit is absolutely deplorable though. I only let my wife use it because she has figured it out. Otherwise it's inanely confusing. Guess it doesn't matter once you have learned it :dunno:

We drove a 2016 CRV touring on Saturday and the wife really liked it. They are blowing them out to make room for the new generation 2017 coming in December/January. It's actually slightly bigger than the cx5 and better acceleration as well. We also drove the SR5 4 runner. Completely different animal. It drove much better than I expected. The v6 is kind of a dog but it's a freaking tank so it wasn't surprising. The price point is very high for the features or lack thereof I should say. I think the wife liked the crv and the features for the money. I'm traveling this week so we will be mulling it over and hopefully making a decision this weekend.

I was just going by you guys saying that lr4 isn't as bad as some older land rovers and was wondering if maybe the evoque could be in the same boat.

Mike Wrote:pro tip - don't limit yourself by the features the wife demands. She will be driving it the majority of the time. Features aren't the only influence for buying but they definitely factor in. Hence why we drove a base 4 runner and a loaded crv.

Whoa they finally redid the Tiguan? Would get my vote too. Really liked the 1st gen, but by the time I didn't was getting out of my GTI they were all old.
