Jake needs a 1st Gen TT like he needs a lobotomy. You people are ridiculous. It feels exactly like driving a cramped Golf. Granted I never drove the 225hp version but the standard one feels like a frickin sled with 180hp turning 4 wheels. My automatic 325i was faster in a straight line.

that's some quality depreciation on the Jag

because it is. the 225hp version is obviously faster, and has some nice extra goodies like vented rear discs, dual intercoolers, a 6th gear, and oil cooler. and if you leave the boost stock you aren't one of us anyway.
feels cramped, sure, that's why it looks the way it does. but if it feels like a golf to you, then we just have completely different interpretations of what "same" actually means.
see if you can find the TT interior:
anyway, Jake won't buy one but its fun to bring out the weird stuff.

NINETY-FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS for a NA Miata? Yeah yeah supercharged, but still.
And I thought people asking $15k for E36 M3s with 150k+ miles were insane.
Big no on the Jag, they're a bit too... Lucille Bluth for me.

Where did I say it had the same interior? It *feels* like driving a fat, dumpy, AWD Golf. Because it is a fat, dumpy AWD Golf, except without any of the benefits of the hatch. I'm all for Jake becoming a VAGtard with me but I see nothing but disadvantages for a TT over an MKV or MKVI GTI. He also has zero use for AWD given that he owns a 4x4 pickup.

I give up, the sickness has obviously become terminal. LS1s, turbos, superchargers and mid engined Toyotas are no match for the topless clown shoe.

I think the TT is ugly too - like a squashed VW Beetle.
If I was gonna get a chick car that wasn't entirely practical, I'd totally buy an old Beetle convertible.

This is for sale in Michigan. Says the seller:

yeah, my bad. i think when i first read it, i was like, no way does he think they drive exactly the same. maybe he meant the inside....but that's me not reading good-like and putting words in people's mouths.
i respect yore opinion. i've driven both as well and they don't feel the same to me, but that's just me. besides, i've driven fat AWD cars all my life anyway so my butt g-meter is probably asleep anyway. its worth noting that the early cars were much more lively than the later models after the rash of people spinning them out on the autobahn...audi literally neutered the cars to death to avoid another "unintended acceleration"-like fiasco. literally like putting balast in the trunk, adding that dumb wing, etc.

I didn't know that about the earlier models, I don't remember what year the one I drove was. It was one of those cars that I used to like, but had never driven. When I was working at the shop in college we had one on the for-sale lot, and I had to drive it across town for some reason. I figured it'd be a bit quicker than my automatic 325i despite the AWD because it was smaller with a stick, but hooo boy was I wrong. Definitely slower in a straight line, felt heavier in the corners and the headroom was pretty unbearable for my lanky ass. Just didn't do it for me. :dunno:

Me too man. I could see him in a 2-door night blue MKVI GTI with a tune and an intake. It'd be a pretty ideal DC traffic assault vehicle.

Why not an MG, a REAL Fiat 124, or BMW when they used to mostly be made of metal? Oh! Corvair convertible! 914 instead of Boxster! Any of these don't have to be purist or totally unreliable, buy something already converted to FI, maybe even AC, and not in perfect shape and drive the hell out of it. (V) (;,, (V)
