My name is Kyle, I am a senior Computer Science student at JMU. I have a 2012 Subaru WRX Limited that I bought about five months ago. I picked it up from Northern Virginia and drove to Harrisonburg having driven stick only once for all of 30 minutes in an early 2000 Ford Focus (very different clutch than a wrx). Now that I don't suck at driving my car I am interested in doing some auto cross and improve my skills as a driver. My WRX has SPT exhaust, Cobb short shifter, grimspeed front license plate relocator, vortex generator, rally armor mud flaps, and most importantly a factory Gold extended warranty until 100,000 miles or 2019. Considering a downpipe, protune, and flex fuel kit, but I will be waiting until I graduate for any go fast parts that will void my warranty. Of course I have hella horns waiting to be installed which means all I need is rotas and I will unlock the Subaru built in vape.
Also in the stable is my fiance's 2013 Infiniti G37xS.
welcome, looks great! we've had quite a few subarus come and go through the club. auto-x is a great start. wise call on the extended warranty if you're not going to mod.

 i'm glad you understand the nuances of being a subaru owner. i've heard rumors that if you put LED lightbars on it you'll unlock a secret Monster Energy flatbill in the glovebox. i don't have enough street cred yet so i haven't found out for myself.

Welcome welcome, I am ALSO a computer science person at JMU, but a graduate student (in my last year thank fuck) and I also work deep in the bowels of JMU IT.
I've also owned 4 Subarus, 3 of them turbo but all of them gone, alas.

Vortex generators... is that like one of those intake tornados?

no it's the goofy shit above his back window that if they do anything at all make his giant wing not work as well.

It is the black piece at the top of the rear glass. I bought it for aesthetics, but it is a genuine Subaru OEM part that according to them actually does things. I think it makes me hit VTEC quicker or something.

I didn't know. Was your undergrad CS too?
Welcome to the forums! Thank you for being one of the few to honor my pleas of making an intro post! Car looked great at the meet!

I wasn't at the meet? I just saw the white Z28 Camaro with a MM decal on campus the other day and remembered I should check you guys out since I am not taking 17-18 credits for once.

Are you Info Sec or Forensics masters? I plan on starting the online Info Sec masters starting next Fall, but I already have a job and I'm more than ready for the work force.

Knock out the masters now, before you get too far out. It's hard as poo to go back, as I'm sure Rex will tell you.
Oh yeah, welcome!

I will only be taking 1-2 classes per semester. I love the work I do for my job, it has flexible hours and I can telework so taking an online masters (most of which will be review for me) on top will not be to bad.

Well the WRX only comes it World Rally Blue and the wrong color so I can see how there would be someone with the same color. Just kidding but I would like to find somebody with a cobb stage 2 or protune WRX to see the difference.

Infosec. I'm happy to be a resource. It's been difficult, but not impossible by any stretch.
I wasn't a CS for undergrad, Information Systems Management from Bridgewater.
