I'm not selling the truck. I've said it before and I'll say it again. The day I sell this truck is the day I buy another Tacoma. If I buy a "fun" car in college, I need to have something else to drive when I'm working on it/it breaks. I live in Copper and work 5 days a week, so I can't really ride the bus or bum rides. The truck has been a constant in my life and has never given me trouble. That would be a worse idea than most to sell it. I really like the truck and it's fine for everywhere but city driving. When I'm back home, the truck is just fine to drive. It's driving in the Harrisonburg traffic and on these prehistoric roads where it falls on its face. "Never" is a harsh term for how much I wheel it. I've gone at least twice a year since I've been at JMU, which I'd say is impressive considering the <5 weekends I get off a year.
I really do appreciate everyone's advice. I actually wanted to buy a civic way back when I looked for the first Miata (Hard to believe that wasn't even a year ago), but I realized I wanted something fun. Now that I've had my Miata fun, and my BMW fun, I think I could survive with a civic as long as it was a manual. I could still autocross it too. I think that would be a good baby-step towards making a responsible and patient decision.

EG/EK Hatch or LS Integra. You are welcome. Good luck finding unmolested ones though.
edit: also finding one that some 18 year old kid wants double what it is worth with about all the rice mods possible.

Is something like this okay? <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="https://fredericksburg.craigslist.org/cto/5567733042.html">https://fredericksburg.craigslist.org/c ... 33042.html</a><!-- m -->
if you can add a little more to the price of that civic you could get into something like

No, I can't do that. I want something fun like a civic or accord. I might as well ride my bike instead of buying that.

if you want a cheap civic with an appliance maintenance level but don't want to kill yourself immediately after driving one, get an 01-05 Civic Si. they are pretty much ignored and the price reflects it. they're mediocre in every way except that we won't have to suffer through as many "this thing is broken and i hate cars again" posts:
here's a not-shitty one:

First, the idea of a foxbody is hilarious, knowing what I/we know about your situation.
Second, I don't know many people who appreciate wheeling and sporty driving the way you do. The sporty guys I know that tried wheeling left early because it's slow and all you do is bounce around, get stuck, turn around and go back. They're polar opposites and that shit sounds terrible to me. More power to you for digging both, but don't stretch yourself too far in each direction.

The shifters in those year Civics look like dildos stuck to the dash. That can't be normal to use.
