Edit: When you all hold unlock to roll the windows down, does it also open the back windows?

Yup.

Hopefully I can code that out, I typically won't ever want the rear windows open.

Mine opens the rear window vents at the same time as the front windows are rolling down.

its a Coupe vs. Sedan thing. My sedan would start with the front windows, then do the back, then when all of them were down the sunroof would open, so you could stop it with just the fronts cracked, or just the windows down.

Isn't yours a sedan? You don't have the rear vent windows like the coupes do.

Any reason you are going the eibach pro street vs just a set of Koni yellows + eibach springs?

Every review I've been reading has said that the Eibach struts are incredibly well paired with the springs they chose. They're just getting good reviews all around. I also like that I can adjust the height with the Eibach setup so I can dial in the height I want without swapping springs. I'm not slamming it or anything, but I'm kind of picky about ride height in general.

Like I said, I'm not 100% set on what I want yet. That's just the way I've been leaning based on reviews I've read of various setups.

I'm pretty sure I still have the original struts on the car, so anything will be a large improvement. If they aren't the originals they are still old as hell.

I'm not quite ready for another big purchase just yet, but thanks. Everything I own seems to be breaking recently. Computer monitor and stereo receiver both died last week. Had to get a new winter coat. Stupid xterra timing solenoid.

I think the next chunk of money I spend on the M3 is going to be repainting the rear bumper and touching up the paint in a few spots. I just got my W2 so maybe some of my tax return will go towards that.

No that's just the picture. I'm still going to restore my headlights sometime before the show. I've got a clearcoat made specifically for headlights. I just need to buy some sand paper and a polishing pad. If they don't come out good enough. I'll just get new lenses. I think they're only like $60 bucks a piece for new ones.

I think I might have some leaky injectors. I was checking the oil yesterday and noticed it smelled like gas more than I think it should have.

I guess I'll pull the spark plugs this weekend and see if any look like they've been running richer than the rest and do a compression test just to make sure I don't have fucky piston rings.

If the compression test is good, I'm just going to send the injectors out to get rebuilt and tested. It's less than $60 bucks for all of them.

Well, the compression tester I rented from autozone doesn't fit the m3 apparently so I didn't get a chance to do that. I'm going to see if advance has the right size tomorrow.

However, I did find that spark plugs in cylinder #1 and #5 smelled like gas and none of the others did. Based on that I'm 90% sure my problem is a couple of leaky injectors. Used, rebuilt, and tested ones are only $40 bucks a piece from MEPEH and I'll probably grab his rebuild kit for the others just to freshen them up while I'm in there.

It's been a while since I last updated.

I rebuilt all the injectors and replaced the two that were leaking since you can't do anything for those. That was a few weeks ago and I pulled the spark plugs last night to check them. The two cylinders that smelled like gas previously don't smell anymore. The oil still smells like gas somewhat (I think), but considering this is almost brand new oil, maybe it's just the way this stuff smells.

I finally got around to fixing the oil leak I had around the valve cover gasket. This was just because I didn't use a OE BMW brand gasket when I did the valve adjustment when I first got the car. The new BMW gasket fit so much better than whatever junk was on there before. Elring I think? Anyway, it seems like this is fixed. I didn't smell the usual burning oil smell this morning as the car got warm.

The rear bumper has been completely repainted and aligned properly now. It ended up being a little more costly than I had hoped because it had a crack along the bottom that needed to be repaired. The car looks pretty good now. It still has some random clear coat scratches and other small spots, but I'm not going to worry about it. It's not a show car, but it still looks pretty good for the age.

I had also ordered a carbon fiber csl style diffuser that I was going to have partially painted at the same time as the rear bumper. The one I ordered ended up not fitting very well so I'm returning that. The brand was supposed to fit pretty well based on the forums, but I don't think they really make them anymore and this one might have been setting around forever and gotten warped. It wasn't a very expensive one, but I'm not interested in paying $400 for a little plastic piece with carbon fiber overlaid from a nicer brand. For now, I'm just returning this one and putting this off.

Next up is going to be some sort of muffler. The car sounds so bad right now that I don't enjoy driving it as much as I could. Now that it's warm enough to drive with the windows down, it's more of a problem than it was before. The exhaust has zero tone and all rasp currently. I think I'm leaning towards a scorza muffler.

E46 M3's seem pretty hard to dial in the exhaust. Most that I've heard are still pretty raspy.

Yeah these are the only two setups I've found that sound good to me:

SGT/AP headers are essentially the same. Both are replicas of non-stepped supersprints, but still good quality. You can also add the SGT resonated section two to calm down the rasp even more, but mostly keep the same tone. Adding any cats ruins the sound to my ears though.

New Scorza muffler is on the way. I looked around for the last 5 months for a used one at a decent price, but they just don't show up used very often at all. And when they do, they sell for $100-200 off the new price. I messaged the vendor directly and got a $100 discount so I shouldn't lose much when/if I decide to sell the muffler.

It sounds like absolute dog shit right now. I don't know how BMW possibly made such a bad sounding muffler, and put it on one of their M cars no less.

They're all built to order, so it will be here in a few weeks. Can't wait. :thumbup:
