Hi all! My name is Caroline and I’m a freshman at JMU. I’m from Basking Ridge New Jersey, which is around 45 mins from the city. I love all cars, however I’m a sucker for classics (1969 Camaro SS is the dream). I've helped install parts on jeeps to trucks to my own mazda, so I would love to give a hand to anyone installing anything!

I drive a 2009 Mazda 6, all stock unfortunately. Since my brother and I both use it, he refuses to have it modded even in the slightest. It’s broke 200,000 miles but it’s still hauling! I'm looking to buy a used car over the summer, so if any of you have any cars that you're planning on selling, let me know!

I definitely have a lot more to learn, and I can't wait to learn some cool things from you guys. So excited to meet you all!

Hey Caroline, welcome! 200k on a 2009 is impressive, nicely done.

Check out our FS/WTB forum, cars occasionally get posted there. DJ's Corvette Z06 has been tentatively for sale for the right price, perfect for any college student! Wink

Glad to hear you're handy with a wrench and willing to learn more and more -- that will bode well for whichever E36 BMW you end up buying over the summer.

Welcome Caroline! 200k miles is a milestone for sure, my RAV4 that I daily drive has 230K, and she is doing great. Like Taylor and Jake said, it is great to have you on the forums :thumbup:.

Welcome! No matter what anyone tells you on here or in person about buying a BMW, please don't do it, it's a con. Their numbers have been dwindling as of late and we've almost finished them off for good. They had their time but please buy a Miata or a Mustang to support the cause of a BMW-free future for MM. Welcome, and just give in to the BMW pressure. The E36 M3 is one of the best cars you can buy under $10k if you can deal with the lack of power.

On the other hand, a 69 Camaro SS with updated suspension and a LS motor would be just fine.

i'd actually suggest buying a BMW, because once yours starts falling apart around the engine you can come here and make all kinds of friends as you dig for advice from fellow busted BMW owners on how to fix it :thumbup:

Except DJ buys the only E36s left with interiors that haven't naturally fallen apart, and then rips them out anyway to turn into a race car. :p
