Hey there.

I am a former SMAD student and JMU employee. I worked at JMU for 7 years until January '14 as the webmaster.

Originally from England, I live here in Harrisonburg with my family and drive a Mazda RX-8. I have been meaning to join up with MM for ages and spoke to Jake about it loads of time but never got around to it.

Welcome! Seeing your car made me realize that I don't think I've ever seen a yellow RX8 before and it looks great in that color. The only spinny Dorito motor'd car in MM I believe!

welcome, i've gotta side with Goodspeed in that i think that's the only yellow RX8 i've ever seen. looks great, right at home there on the parkway.

i still dream of maybe one day snagging an R3. i had a chance to test drive an '08 anniversary edition and it's always haunted me since.

They only ever made 1,500 of the yellow (probably because no one was stupid enough to buy it). It also came with a yellow matchbox RX-8 car in a presentation case. There are a couple of other RX-8's in town but I have never seen another yella.

Random question, did you have that car listed for sale about 3-4 years ago? Back when I was helping my GF shop for what would become her 540i, she had a fixation with RX-8s. I saw a yellow one for sale in town and contacted the guy about it, but I think we ended up test driving one at a dealership or something and decided it wasn't the right car for her. Neither was the car we bought, but the RX-8 wasn't right either.

We did look into selling it a while back on Craigslist. But I have only had it for about 4 years so if you saw it on eBay then it was probably the guy who sold it to me. For some stupid reason it was only worth $6k when I went to sell it with 40k on the clock so we kept it. Thank god, we nearly traded it in for a town and country to lug the family around in. That would have been miserable. Will just carry on with a car that's way too small for a family with two kids and two dogs :-)
