That it WONT be. Still has the messed up fender, have one coming in next week. I just will keep the hood closed unless I magically find some time to work on it between now and then. Whole front end body panels arent even on the car!

It was... |..| close to getting done. I actually put it on the floor, started it up and went to go throw it in the trailer. Only to find the clutch went straight to the floor. This was at 9:30 at night, and I didn't feel like pissing off my neighbors if I tried to bleed again and then start it at 10 at night. So she didnt come to Summit. I did start it up with it on the ground though and...wow. Needs a muffler, probably two. When it starts, it "barks", and rumbles the whole garage. Was enough to make Mike D'Amico jump and a box fall off the shelves in the garage.

Things left to do.

1. Bleed the clutch more...keep bleeding...bleed some more.
2. Finish up cat-back
3. Since it now has no timeline, I am going to clean up the wiring a bit more. Not a total rewire, but I have to clean up the wiring so it looks stock. Total rewire comes in spring when I put the A/C in.

Wow, really havent touched this car in 2 months. So Monday I decided to get things moving again. I bled the clutch and with a firm pedal, a running engine, a put together car, I was ready to have some fun the next day.

Get home, open the garage yesterday to this:


The slave cylinder exploded..or something. I dont know yet. Going to attempt to pull the transmission itself tonight, if not, I will be pulling the motor/trans out. Honestly, I would love to pull the engine/trans out again to be able to go through the car now that everything is measured/installed, and just clean it up. If I dont drive it though, I may be tempted to just leave it sitting like I have the past 2 months.

Maybe you have too much travel on the slave and the rod popped out? (giggity)

So last night tackled pulling JUST the trans out. After 30 minutes of headscratching on how to get this one bolt (which was my concern), we blindly got a socket on it with a deep socket 15mm, 2 3-inch extensions, 1 1-foot extension, 2, 6-inch extensions, a flex head ratchet and one u-joint. Once that was out, it was not really bad at all to pull the trans out just itself.



After pulling it out, I unbolted the slave and as it tipped over, brake fluid poured out of the slave, from what I assume is the seal between the slave and TOB.


With how mcuh grime there was in there. I have to assume there was a small leak for a while, as the interior of the bellhousing was COVERED in grime/combination of clutch disc dust and brake fluid. F***ing A. Went against my philosophy if something works, dont mess with it.

I then pulled the clutch out to see if any fluid was on it. And although its hard to tell the real wear on the clutch disc (since there are 3 clutch discs in a triple plate), it looks like it has seen better days. I don't know if the material is like brake pads where the edges can crumble and its no biggie or not. Contacting Spec this morning.

bet that bolt is going to be fun to try and get back in.
what's a new triple plate clutch disk cost? if that one is on the way out i'd rather you throw a new one in my car now while it's all apart. (unless it's like a 2 grand part )

I've never even seen a slave cylinder like that, it's all one piece with the TOB?
