Just wondering -- why not sell the Explorer? I imagine the WRX would do fine in snow, etc -- unless you are keeping the Explorer around to keep the WRX out of the snow, etcx.
I'll probably never drop the explorer. It was my first car (sedimental value) and it is fully paid off. It doesnt get used very much anymore but it is great for moving larger items. I've used it for everything from taking wheels and tires to the shop for mounting to moving fully from one house to another. Surprisingly enough, the WRX is really poor on storage room. Probably shouldve gone with the hatch version.
For winter, I use the WRX solely. I honestly dont trust the explorer in the snow compared to the WRX.

Think she'd pick you over 1/3rd of her shoe collection (or insert other pile of shit she may have if not shoes)? If the ultimatum game is being played, that shit should go both ways.

I agree with GF, 3 cars is ridiculous. You live in a damn townhouse. Sell the WRX if you must keep the Exploder, fix it up, DD it and get a track car. Have money left over to drive the hell out of both of them.

my gf is on an extended work trip right now..she told me her worst fear was that there'd be another car in my garage when she gets back. as it currently sits i have at least 2 more spots to park at my house

Wut? I live in a townhouse and have 4 cars, and a trailer, and one of those cars is a longbed/crewcab truck. You speak jibberish, just like the woman.

How about a compromise. Bring her out to the track. Show her how much fun you're having at the track with the MM crew, and how much safer/cheaper/easier it would be to own a dedicated track car.

I'm sure if he had the garage-with-house-hiding-behind-it setup you have and more $, he'd have more options.

Neither does my wife but she likes to come and hang out with all of us. And read her kindle in DJ's warm trailer or out in the sunshine.

Seems like the smart decision to me
This would be the time where I could try to convince you of other things, but I have learned it is useless. Your priority right now is a new car (wrx) and girlfriend. The track car will just have to wait. Nothing wrong with that either.

I dont have spots right by my house but I can always find parking spots in the neighborhood. I do have the budget, I just figured I would start small on the budget price for a shell and save the majority of the budget for items that need to be addressed, upgraded and safety items. I do have a garage, however it is filled with wheels/tires and tools. I just cant fit a car in there so I do my current wrenching in my driveway. Just sucks when it is cold out.
OH! Well pssh then DJ's right, get a damn track car already. And leave her a good spot in front of the house. How could she complain? If she breaks up with you over that, then it wasn't much of a relationship. :dunno:

I'm okay with sticking with the new car and girlfriend and just learn to drive better. See what the future brings.
