Awesome! The first pictures of the Corolla going (sort of) fast. :lol:

It was a great weekend though overall. Got to meet some new people, beat up on some faster cars, and come home to see some fresh pictures of the sidewall of my tire scrubbing the asphalt! :vomit: :dunno:

The Chevelle was actually pretty composed for being huge and having little rubber under it


I had a blast though, learned a lot, and because I went first, a Corolla did hold FTD for a minute or two, until the Corvette 2 cars behind knocked me down.

Overall, pretty fun day with some very nice weather. Would have been nice to see a few more current students come out since it's so close but an autocross the day after St. Patty's day might not result in the best turnout from current students :lol:

Had a great time, both days!

When I get a free sec I will download the runs from the GoPro (thanks Rex, you'll get it back at VIR) and post them.

Biggest take-away? HP+'s are too much pad for autocross. They never got hot, so I couldn't modulate brakes much, ultimately slid a lot of places because wheels just locked under braking. But, they work on track so they stay :thumbup:

Mega-thanks to Rex & Julie for letting my buddy Erik and I stay in Weyers Cave on Saturday night. Sure was nicer than a college apartment-provided couch.

ended up stopping in saturday with little bear from about 130-3, met guy with a jmu shirt (but not from mm) over by the far right turn where corina's favorite car, the black and pink lotus, was parked. he had his little girl there also so they kinda played and watched the races. beautiful day, but realized when i got there the only one i've met in person so far was Lincoln.

Jason how did your tires fare? last time i autocrossed there with skinny all-seasons on a FWD it tore the outer shoulder to pieces. hope yours didn't do that.
