"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth
S&P500 cant break resistance at 1300 and hold it so personally I would hold off on any long plays until it does.

It's the reason 40% of my retirement is in bonds.

I hear ya, I'm 50% in a bond fund (FBIDX) myself recently. Same reason. And nearly guaranteed 6-8% yearly isn't horrible.

So here's a question.
I've got this coin, right? And I thought about selling it (since gold is through the fucking roof wtf.) and buying some stocks. Maybe something dividend-y. Thoughts?

gold is high right now. i would not be buying it, but i'd probably not sell it if i had it. i know that sounds like it makes little sense, but that's what i'm going with.
dividend stocks should be long plays. as i firmly believe the market will crash again, long plays aren't smart.
says the guy with most of his assets in dividendy long plays
basically, i don't like where i am, but it has been working out and i see no good reason to change it.

Honestly, I would just keep the gold for now.

No talk about the Facebook IPO?
I've heard that the layperson won't be able to buy stock, that it is all already spoken for. I don't do a lot of individual stock trading / purchasing so I don't know the truth to that, but just sayine
I personally believe Facebook is lined up to take over the world, so if I can I will probably try to pick some up.

I personally stay away from high-risk investments....
Facebook is lining up their IPO and word on the street is they are "reaching" for a vvvvvverrry high IPO. I will let you interpret that.

More realistically, I'm too chicken to touch FB stock. Said to be overvalued and I certainly don't know any better.
As for your claim that they'll "take over the world" and treating it as a long term play, isn't it inevitable that someone's going to eat their lunch in another year or so? FB has stopped innovating, someone will do it better.
