Registration looks to be full, therefore if you did not sign up.....you suck.
10 walk up spots open though....

Yep, we limited the pre-regs to 50 and closed it a little while ago. I'll update the entry list tomorrow, gotta get some sleep after 2.5 awesome days at VIR. Otherwise, we definitely have 10+ spots available for day-of regs on Sunday, and haven't yet turned anyone away who showed up with an entry fee and a car that passed tech

Awesome time as usual, big thanks to Jon for putting on a great AutoX. I had 2 Co drivers, Jake & DJ.
Jake went out the first heat, I assume he had fun in the Hatchpile. DJ ran the third heat, said he hated the car the first run, then it grew on him, for being a FWD honderp. I ran the second heat, big thanks to DJ for coaching me on a couple of runs, had trouble looking ahead my first few runs, which I typically do but brain farts in the morning. Also, realizing I can get back on the throttle way earlier then I was my first few runs. With DJ in the passenger seat screaming at me "Throttle", I shaved a full 2 seconds off my times from earlier. 55.xxx to a 53.xxx. Last run I tried to get on the throttle much sooner and even with a hiccup at the finish, (Immediate left hander prior to the finish box) I locked dem shits up, but still ran a 54.xxx. Seat time! Seat time! Seat time! Had a blast though, looking forward to 2012 season with the new leadership under Zach Mickle (NASA Instructor) and Nichole Smiraldo (NASA Grid, typically). Video to come....

Great fun, thanks again MM'ers for coming out to play! Results are in progress today. And here's what a 47-second run looks like... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=62uGAzyZgew

The hatch I hated the first run, didnt help that I wasnt used to fwd, the steering wheel was forever away (but if I moved closer Id smush my legs), and I was stupid and wore my regular driving gloves on a leather steering wheel which just made them slip all over the place. Next run went without the gloves and started to get a feeling for the car. A couple mis-shifts for 3 runs in a row killed my times, and although I never had a successful run without a major ****up, I still got some decent times in. I ended up liking the civic hatch by the end of the runs when I started to "get" how the car liked to be handled. I had a hard time with the brake pedal, hondas always have the touchiest pedals, and coming from BMWs long pedal, it was hard to get used to. Amazing course! And thank you so much for Justin for the co-drive!

I had a blast yesterday! Ran into Ray Schumin before I went out, and he gave me some simple (useful) advice for FWD... "let the front turn before you gas it" which was very helpful, since I'm used to RWD and steering with the throttle. Keeping that in mind... my first run was slow as I figured out the car. Past that, I figured I might as well go all-out and see what I could do with this silly derpy front-wheel-drive hatchpile. Ended up nicking a cone on a few runs, but my best time was a low 54.xx (like 54.3 maybe?) which I was happy with.
It was interesting to finally drive FWD in anger and feel it out. It was very "point, throttle, pullll you out" which was kinda fun. I had a tough time finding the lockup point of the brakes, so perhaps I didn't use them to the best of my ability. Oh, and figuring out the gearing was fun. The car ran out of gear in 2nd, so we all found points where 3rd was a good idea, but then the downshift to 2nd again was tricky. DJ and I both ended up in 4th a few times. Oops. Waiting on official results, video, etc. but had a great great time -- mega thanks to Justin for letting us crash at his/Casey's place on Saturday night and for the co-drive -- and also to DJ for driving us there and back in supreme Bavarian comfort (aside from a few mule-kick-in-the-ass SMG shifts ![]()

the gearing in the car mated with that motor is definitely a bitch for autox. you'd be better off with the stock ls gearing.

Definitely, I had to be in third in two places on the course, and another 3 other places I was bouncing off the rev limiter. Better gearing in an autox course would have that car a good .5-1sec faster. Having to do 2nd to third, third to second, twice and the vague shifter resulted in A LOT of fourth gear pulls
