So... wiring...
This was the issue I had with getting it running again. Had it running for a while, then the wires ate through. ![]() ![]() ![]() SO,I patched up all the broken wires, and extended every one of them to relocate the harness. It was grueling hours of work, but a friend of mine helped me push through and we knocked it out. Think we counted 45 wires total! ![]() ![]() And thank goodness, running again as of a couple weeks ago. Time for some events again this year, can't wait. And just for fun ![]() ![]()

I saw the pics of your wiring on FB a few weeks ago and was wondering how that happened. Were they rubbing on the tire?

it was from when I first bought the car 2 or 3 years ago. It had some cheap lowering springs on the stock shocks, blew them fairly quickly, and was low and bouncy. Bad combination, but ya, rubbed the crap out of them until I noticed and tucked it up as high as I could. A year later, with new suspension that had been on for a year, it suddenly started giving me problems even though that rubbing had exposed those wires a year ago. Whatever... just decided it was time ha. But ya, figured it was best to go ahead and lengthen them far enough where I could really get them out of the way. sorry for the late response ha

So it's been a long while since I've updated this, so I'll give it a whirl.
Found a pic of an autocross with MM I did last year. My buddy Ben behind me ![]() Since then, I've done a couple things.... 5 Lug swap all around, home to the new mustang replicas ![]() ![]() ![]() Bought some cheap aero cause it was a steal ![]() ![]() ![]() Nismo powerbrace ![]() JAPAN!!! haha ![]() I ran a drift event with the newly home-built motor ![]() ![]() ...and it fell apart halfway through the day. Stupid me running the wrong heat range spark plugs (plus too much boost on stock management) caused it to detonate, resulting in 0 compression in two cylinders. All four plugs blown to pieces ![]() ![]() So I got to work on doing it all over again! ![]() ![]() ![]() New door. yay. started prepping for a paint job that I'll do myself one day down the road. Still haven't done it ![]() ![]() Started the rebuild ![]() ![]() Went with forged internals this time. CP pistons and Manley rods ![]() Honed the block ![]() Put the puzzle together... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And into the car!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And recently got a daughterboard soldered into the ECU for tuning purposes through the use of Nistune. ![]() ![]() Also recently just swapped my front crappy brakes for a set of remanufactured z32 brakes. yay 4 piston ![]() ![]() And now, I'm fixing up a stripped oil plug drain bolt and then I should be set to drive. Gotta do an alignment soon as well. I've been driving the new motor for a couple months now, and it feels great. Can't wait to get it back out on the track

engine build in the living room? i like your style.
question: did you guys carry the engine in/out of the house, or what? and how do you like Nistune? I've heard its pretty badass, way beyond something like hondata for instance.

JPolen01 Wrote:Great pictures and write up! I am definitely diggin it wingless. Ha ya me too definitely. Wing isn't going back on, that's for sure. ScottyB Wrote:engine build in the living room? i like your style. yepppp, carried it into the house with transmission and everything attached as you see in the pic with the block ready to disassemble. Didn't have the head on it, so no manifolds to grab onto. But for bringing it outside, we didn't have the transmission on, but we had the head and manifolds on so those were grabbing points. Was super heavy ha, but my buddy Ben helped me get it outside and onto the hoist which we rolled down the street. As for nistune, not too sure about it since I didn't actually tune the car. I've got a buddy in richmond who's great with it and has been street tuning for years. Started on hondas, and now is amazing with Nissans. So I had no interaction with it other than telling him where I wanted my rev limiter, how things felt when I was driving, etc.

Definitely some serious sticktoitiveness. You either need a garage or need to back with the girl with the fancy garage where the first build took place.
When I read that you were changing wheels I wasn't sure what to expect, I really like the others on there, but those cobras work too. Glad the new build is holding up, good luck.

I keep thinking your danm liscense plate says "Free Shirts".
Good work though, next time your in Richmond let me know if you need any help/garage space to work, I can make some room.

Thanks everyone, ya a garage would be great! hah. At least the hard work is over for now until it breaks apart again. And ya Steve I definitely wish I had the garage from the first girlfriend haha! That was so great to have access to. Probably would never have built the first motor without it.
And license plate has now been changed to one with a space in it hahaha. so no more free shirts for ppl. now it's "frsh rts" http://www.facebook.com/FreshRootsDrift Consists of myself, my buddy building his rx7, and another just getting going on an sc300. we're hosting that driftvalley event (hoping enough people sign up)
