Wait wut? In the past, we set the date, paid half to gforce and collected the entry from attendees, then paid the final half like the day of or a week or two before.
Right, I don't have that half to put down. Until the bank account is squared away which should be this week. Last year, the treasurer fronted the deposit. I have $40 to my name and I know Lincoln's not much better, So that's not happening this year. Sorry but I has teh poor.

If it makes you feel better, you do get more money when you graduate, you just can't spend any of it if you feel like putting a roof over your head.
Now: 07 Porsche Cayman S | 18 VW Tiguan
Then: 18 VW GTI Autobahn | 95 BMW M3 | 15 VW GTI SE | 12 Kia Optima SX | 2009 VW GTI | 00 BMW 540i Sport | 90 Mazda Miata | 94 Yamaha FZR600R | 1993 Suzuki GS500E | 2003 BMW 325i | 95 Saab 900S
you can spend it... just keep your college diet and drinking style.

Wasnt asking you to use your own money, typically have/had enough in the mm account to front the cash.

Im not so pink and fuzzy about members putting up money for the club like that.

In all seriousness maybe a more open discussion needs to be had about the club's finances. A club shouldn't have to operate requiring it's treasurer to continually input cash just to keep it running. I'm not saying it's anyone's faults per say but something definitely needs to done.

That's why we raised dues even though it met some resistance from Alumni. I will happily open the books as we are a club and a non-profit organization. I feel some promises are being made that we can't live up to though. Paying for a MM hotel room at VIR. Renting a Van to get down to VIR. Alot of eggs are going into this VIR basket and I don't think it should be done that way but what do I know.

Agreed, I think it's great and all to promise all this stuff but in reality it's just not feasible; especially with how rough times have gotten lately. I can't imagine it's that expensive to have people going split up the costs, or at least let the club be responsible for a smaller portion.

Yeah lolwut. Don't pay for a hotel room, people can crash in other rooms. Members paid half the fee of the rental bus.
Probably dragging off topic, how are you guys managing alumni dues? I would be much more likely to remember if I got a paypal invoice or something...

The only thing that stops a bad guy with a van is a good guy with a van

I expect no shirt, no sticker, etc.
remember to push the kids to page 2 if they cant find it

Ahaha at least it wasn't your money...but in all seriousness - it was just a timing issue. One of the unfortunate side effects of doing a great job recruiting new members (which Jake did over the past two years) is a lot of up front expenses in the form of tshirts and stickers (not to mention a handful of autocrosses) made our liquidity situation a bit iffy. We just needed a loan to put the deposit down so we could start collecting from members,
EDIT: That said I have no issue with opening the books (if anyone is keeping a book ahaha)

isnt that an issue in and of itself? How can the dues not cover the shirts and stickers?
