Hey yall, I'm Abbie McDonald and I'm a newbie this year. I'm a first-year sophomore and I'm majoring in kinesiology. I drive a yellow 1981 Camaro with a 350 that makes 330ish hp. I drag race the car at Virginia Motorsports Park as often as I can, and for those of you who are familiar with drag racing, it's fastest pass was a 13.18 at 103.34 mph. I live for drag racing, and I plan to do it for the rest of my life. So if there are any other drag racing fans out there in the MM world, hit me up!! I do love all kinds of racing and cars though... and I can't wait to meet every single one of you!
1981 Camaro = 383 Stroker, 492 hp, 485 ft-lbs torque, Turbo 350 trans, Positraction rear, 12.22 @ 111.84mph

1996 Camaro = 3.8L V6, automatic, 200 hp, 100% stock

Welcome, welcome. Its a been a long time since we've had someone with Drag strip knowledge. Even though its not our primary racing event, do not hesitate to keep us in the loop about drag events. We are a motorsports club, and that encompasses a lot of things.

13 second '81 Camaro? AWESOME!! Welcome to the club! How much is it to run at VMP?
Thanks everybody! Pics of the car will be coming soon! I'm glad to see some other folks into American muscle!
Dan, thank you in advance for the wheel polish! See ya Sunday!
We definitely need to get a group together to go drag racing. I race on Friday nights, and it is $17 to enter your car and run for the trophy. My class is called Muscle Street, and it's basically folks who have street cars who want to see how their cars will do and beat up on the guys. There is also just a test and tune session, but I can't remember off hand how much that costs. It's so much fun and I hope that some of yall are interested in coming out to my home track, good ole VMP! Let me know if you're interested and I can get you all the info you need.

Welcome! I know there's been talk with VT about going to an 1/8th mile strip out their way but we can definitely pick a Friday to get out to VMP sometime this year.

That would be amazing to get a group to come out to VMP! The season ends fairly soon and there are only two more Friday night races with the Muscle Street class this year, Oct 28 and Nov 4. There are also plenty of Saturday test and tune days toward the end of the season. No racing on those days, just open practice. So that might be something to do if we can't pull off a Friday. Here is the link to full season schedule. And racing will start up again next year in early March probably.
