Homecoming 2K11 Celebrating 100 years of alumni
#1
Allora ragazzi,

Oct. 1st is our homecoming game v. Richmond and I'm hoping that some alumni can make it down/up/around/back to Harrisonburg to celebrate 100 years of alumni (decent cause right?). If one of you can somehow pull off a spot(or several) on Godwin Lawn by the stadium. Otherwise, near the tennis courts is ok.

Quote:What: Alumni Tailgate | Where: Godwin Field | When: TBA

Celebrate Homecoming and leave the cooking to us! Reconnect with all your friends in the ultimate gameday experience of a JMU tailgate. Family-friendly entertainment includes music, food and a moonbounce for the kids. Adult ticket prices are $15 and child tickets (ages 3-10) are $8. All children under the age of three are free. Price includes all you can eat and drink, kids activities and a DJ.

If anyone wants to further research getting some real estate here I'll give you a high five and might buy multiple cases of deer park. Honestly though, I have a couple tricks up my sleeve and combined with the ridiculously high foot traffic around the area I hope everyone one on campus will see how awesome MM is.

Sidenote: Anyone think it's possible for us to convince JMU to allow us to shuttle VIP type folks around on Golf Carts we can sneak little MM banners onto for the event??

What do you all think/ Anything to offer?

Aren't those spots reserved for the people who drop thousands of dollars towards the program??

Yea, the Godwin Field is reserved for the baller donors... probably no chance of getting spots there unless we have a secret MM alumni athletic booster I dont know.

Yea good luck getting a Godwin field spot, unless you are droppin like $5k, Ill be tailgating up near ISAT, I think, with my mediocre non-baller donation.

And FYI, I have never seen a golfcart cruising around during a football game, especially not around the tailgaters etc. Aside from Maintenance/PoPo, so im not sure what the possiblities are in doing that, no harm in asking around though.

Hate to be the negative one but I'm pretty sure they would never give us golf carts because I don't think they even have that many, maitinance uses those orange kabuto things.

Plus I'm not sure its the greatest idea liabilty wise because think about our club all driving golf karts...as jon put it shenanigans would most definatley insue and that could mean the end of our charter. (No offense to jon or his wording, I probably couldn't help myself with all of us in golf carts either.) Not to mentioned it would be boring as all hell without shenanigans driving rich alumni we don't know around.

Unfortunatley JMU is pretty strict about everything and it will most likely only become more strict on a weekend like that. They don't understand golf cart shenanigans such as NASA does.

That's just my .02 cents though. :dunno: Sorry to crash the party

NASA golf carts use to be fun, but after I think (Kaan?) flipped one, and then Chris Cobetto himself flipped one, they ended that shenanigans.

I say we tailgate by the convo, i've been there before they tend to go MUCH easier on the drinking and it's very similar to the good ol' days.

I also remembered the spots by the tennis courts are also reserved for semi-baller donors.

You mean no one has 5k to throw out :dunno: Well then, more realistically let's all try to congregate around the same place and have an MM block. I guess us students will just keep an eye out when games come around to strategize for homecoming.
As far as golf carts go, millions of dollars in a new stadium must mean there are some more floating around somewhere

Well picture the scooter with a weedeater engine attached. Then throw in NASA officials. Instant bad idea.

There is a small possibility they will notice the giant motor sticking off the back, but what if I could mount two Gas powered RC car motors in/around the axles  AWD Scooter from hell
