Sad

Unacceptable. Your 240hp 3000lb M3 did not beat a thinly-veiled Daytona Prototype.

lol, I wasnt going for that, but I was really really disappointed in the car. It should have been much faster and I was fighting it all weekend, it was slower (as well as my driving) than the older setup. Ill be fixing that and getting everything sorted for August hopefully. Either way, a bad car on track is A BAJILLION TIMES better than no car at the track

First pics are up!

I'm all for a little Goodspeed bashing. On Saturday and Sunday I spent about 4-5 hours outside in mixed shade. Both days I drank over 2 liters of water and ended up with a headache. I couldn't keep from sweating out. I mean, I'm a soft office employee now but it was hot as a mug out there. Congrats for the solid finish Friday DJ. What did you change on the car?

Well, ill be honest, I was dumb and just kind of nodded along when Carlos warned me before the cage that on E36s it really seems to mess with them when you put in a cage. I was like uh huh sureeee... Well shit, thats what happened. The car went from beautifully neutral to now understeery, and then twitchy oversteering. The front end lost so much grip that I was actually caught by surprise a bunch of times by almost understeering off and doing 2-wheels off the pavement.

I also caught a problem I hadnt noticed till sunday that every session my tires were dropping 4-5 psi. I had to keep filling them up. Soon as I noticed that I dropped 2 seconds off my times, but still didnt fix how the car behaved. I just could NOT get the front end to have any sort of grip that it usually did.

Talking with Kaan, he also asked if I had the car aligned after the cage...I didnt  Apparently this can also go completely askew. It also significantly changed my cross-weights and balance. Ive contacted a few people and will be borrowing scales, getting the car corner-weighted with the ballast I need, and then getting an alignment. Will also be throwing on fresh hoosiers to get the car setup right, and building a new front splitter thats reinforced (apparently after my bumper got chewed up the splitter now just flaps in the wind).

when its corner balancing time, call me. we need to "do" some things to prep for doing it right. we want to work with weight placement and stuff.

You mean at the track or somewhere else, because I no see you?
I was on grid all day both days and only had a problem once after gridding thunder in false grid because I was running back and forth a lot...because of wasteful people, we can only have the baby bottles of water.

So what's up with all the hatin' for SM I heard about this weekend?!? Is it just hearsay from somebody bending the story for drama or is something else going on?

Oh, umm they couldn't fit within the false grid spots we had setup even though autobahn and thunder both squezzed in there :dunno: that was my biggest problem with em because the drivers asked me to move cones rather than park where they suppose to...I didn't hear anthing serious though but I am also out of the loop :dunno:
