M3 wheel choices
#1
Trying to figure out what wheels to run. I saw a dicussion going on in Tyler's project thread but didn't want to jack his thread. What is everyones favorite. Mine personally are the Volk Racing VR.G2 but I could never afford those while in school and not sure I would ever want to. I would be too afraid to lower the car off the jack after putting them on with those wheels.

Anyway, thinking maybe these

My coworker's wife just picked up a black E36 M3, blacked out kidney grills and anthracite 18x9 SSR Competitions. Brought it in to work and it looks killer - always like those wheels as well.

Probably 17's to keep tire cost down but I wouldn't mind 18's and they would be for mainly looking good probably and i'd keep my stock wheels with some used r-comps or somethin...havnt thought it all out yet but a mix of both wouldn't be bad going fast and looking good

The LTW5 is what I originally was thinking
Arc 8 is a good looking rim but not sure if I want that style or the spoke style like the D-force's (And they cost more)
I don't care for K1's on M's, I like them on otter's and stuff though
The TR is what everyone in MM runs and I like them but I think I might like the LTW5 better

that it? newb question, but doesnt putting larger diameter rims effect gearing? i know wrangler owners always have some issues when they upgrade to those 33 boggers.

Maybe some, most of it should be corrected by running a lower profile tire on an 18"

Your speedometer is about 7% fast anyway from the factory.
