FS: 1992 Ford Taurus SHO
#1
-1992 Red / Black Interior, 173k miles, 5-speed (they all are :thumb: ), no prior accidents, clear title.

The car is located in Brunswick, MD 21716

First I will start out with the list of mods:
-Zex Nitrous Kit - 55 shot
-Koni/Intrax suspension, all new bushings and mounts(~10k miles old)
-ShoBros High-Flow Y-Pipe w/ Cats
-Dynomax cat-back exhaust
-ShoNut Extreme Motor Mounts (front and rear)
-Aluminum Subframe Bushings
-1995 Hard Button EATC
-All new stereo - Sony 52x4 head unit that changes colors (have original cassette deck and amp if its your thing), Pioneer speakers all around, repaired factory subwoofer.
-Remote lock/unlock added to doors
-K&N filter panel
-Clear Corners

Now for the maintenance:
-New Valeo Clutch at 131k miles - resurfaced PP, ShoNut ceramic TOB, new shift fork and bushings, new rear main and TOB
-New clutch cable
-Junkyard alternator (works fine, ~60k miles old)
-New starter (125k miles)
-New Bosch O2 sensors (123k miles)
-New inner/outer tie-rods (~140k miles)
-New Battery (~150k miles)
-Various paint repairs (only rust was on corner of hood and it was cosmetic) including repainted door pillars.
-New vacuum hose for charcoal canister (had a small leak)
-New radiator / ALL rubber engine hoses (with exception of 2in of molded hose)
-New swaybar end links
-Replaced Rod Bearings at 130k miles
-Plugs (Copper, 1 heat range colder.) / Wires (AC-Delco)
-Gas cap release latch ($12 for a 2 cent piece of plastic!)
-Power steering filter installed
-Headlight switch
-Ebrake release cable
-1 Front Wheel bearing and hub
-Brake pads (Hawk HPS front at 155k miles, Autozone rears)

I'm sure I am forgetting tons of little things too - probably 5g in maintenance (just in parts) over the past 6 years. Car has COLD AC (134a retrofitted.) Pretty much everything works as it should (ex.. sunroof button not busted, clock is still lit) Car runs like a bat out of hell.

Problems / flaws:
-Crack in dashboard (single, right above steering column) - filled with RTV, really not that noticeable, hasn't spread.
-Tear in drivers seat and on top stitching of rear seat back - passengers seat looks great, drivers is much better than most.
-Original paint has some wear and there is a small crack in the corner of the front bumper - would rate the paint a 6 out of 10
-One rear quarter is starting to bubble around the edge - not through paint yet and NO OTHER RUST ANYWHERE - car is undercoated and clean as can be.
-Clunk in the front suspension - I think a sway-bar end link is binding, although I haven't figured it out.
-Rear e-brake cable needs replacement - passenger side e-brake doesn't work because the cable is seized.
-Car needs a front 60k service (timing belt, water pump, engine seals.) The timing belt is pretty bad but the motor is non-interference so I haven't replaced it. Front engine seals leak a bit. Water pump is fine, but should be replaced when the seals / timing belt is done.
-Headlights are starting to yellow again.

Optional extra parts:
-1 extra set of extra wheels and 2 unmounted Kuhmo V700 race slicks for the basket-weaves
-Untold numbers of extra parts (spare intake manifold, about 30 intake bolts, valve covers, MAF, stock rear motor mount, slightly bored butterfly valves, etc...)
-Ford repair CD
-Black perforated leather seat covers from a 1990 SHO - I paid a fortune for these. Driver bottom has a missing piece of leather.

$2700 without the Zex kit, $3000 with Zex kit, $3200 with extra parts. Prices are firm

Adam, best of luck. i am in much the same situation with my car....love/hate.

maybe go test drive some cars for fun, step away from the SHO for a while and just think things over, considering how much you've invested both in parts/labor and in the time you've taken to educate yourself on all things SHO.

i can tell you that seperation from my car for so long has changed how i think about it and made me reconsider dumping it.

There's a guy in PA that's got a 3.0 he might let go for cheap...if you want to toss a new motor in.

Did you ever sell it? I just tripped over a $400 engine in Roanoke craigslist...

Bump, updated with current information. If anyone remembers, I was selling it because I thought the motor dropped a valve or had internal engine issues. Turns out it was a dead coil pack that was causing some sort of crazy pre-ignition knock :dunno: . All good now, runs great.

wow ok, THIS thread. Why are you selling it? Sounds like a nice car for a SHO enthusiast. :dunno: How's the interior overall beyond the dash and driver's seat?

I'm selling it because I never drive it and it is taking up precious space in my garage. I already have a DD (Grand Prix) a track car (Talon) and now a 4th car for the BABE rally (which will also be up for sale end of June). By mid-summer I want to be down to 2 cars.

I just never drive it anymore. It's not worth keeping around taking up garage space. I would rather someone have it that will use it. And I want a C6 in the worst way.
