Have you beaten the story line yet? I'm curious because as noob as it sounds, i think i would get more play out of the story than online, as i hate being pwned by people that are just too good at the game.

damnit, I got tempted because Best Buy is legit across the street from me on the way to the grocery store from work. Bought it, it runs on my 6 year old 3gigahertz 512mb video card, 2gig ram computer just fine. It sometimes slow up just a bit during a cinematic but not enough to really care.
Played a bit last night, it really just feels like starcraft 1 with better graphics and more units. Ill probably try online tonight with a friend if I dont go to happy hour and dont work on both the lexus and GSX with hoods open in the garage....

I haven't beaten the game yet. I put it aside since I've been at the beach on vacation. The cool thing about SC2 though is you can play online coop against the computer AI...so if you don't feel like getting raped by asians you can hop on with your buddies and play against varying levels of difficulty in the computer.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

AFAIK, the asians can't play on US servers. The computer is just dumb... play real people.

There are plenty of Koreans here that went from playing DOTA 24/7 to playing SC2 24/7. I've always been one of those people that likes to build a bigass base with the max number of units and such, then launch one giant attack and overpower the other player. This rarely works against another player, unless they try the same strat.
What's the competition like when you first start playing on battlenet?

You play 5 placement matches, which are completely random opponents. You're then put into one of 5 (I think) ladders of people of similar ability. I went 2-3 in my matches, it put me in the lowest ladder, and I'm 1-0 there against a pretty evenly matched opponent. There is 0 risk of getting dominated after your placement matches.

I finally got back to this game after a few weeks. I want to beat the campaign before I dive into the online play, I do that with pretty much every game I buy. One thing I've noticed is that the Terrans are a LOT stronger in this version, especially once you've worked up the research tree and have a lot of the mercenaries unlocked. If money / vespene are no object and you give me 10 minutes to build up a base with the Terrans, I don't think there is a computer Zerg / Protoss opponent that could break my line. I'm not sure I could say the same thing with the other races. Online is a totally different story, but I'm looking forward to diving into that.

Online: Protoss > Terran > Zerg. Zerg is so beat that lifelong Korean zerg players are switching... It making headlines over there

Started playing online, ps my gamer email is Fitzpadj AT gmail.com.
Protoss are definitely wayyyy stronger in air units, the big thing is, if you manage to build up enough thor's before somebody attacks, and with siege tank backup, its pretty fucking brutal as long as you have missile turrets with em. Havent gone through the entire campaign yet but im pretty far in...I think... Got in some time these past two days, but now im short on sleep

Well, I'm about to put it to the test...I think I'm on the last mission which is basically a huge base defense. Seeing as you start with about 20 SCVs and an assload of minerals I can see this being a crazy battle!

Ive got the game now too. How do I find you guys? My SN is mrbaggio email for the game is jantinarella atat hotmail

The line holds! Terran vehicles are just so overpowered. I will admit you do get some help on that level, you'll see what I mean when you get there...and you have to fight some REALLY strong special mobs. I'm talking like 4 Yamato blasts don't take these things out. But 2 or three bunkers, a few seige tanks and thors, a perdition and zerg slow tower on each side and it's pretty much cake. I had a whole messload of upgraded Vikings because I chose to take out the ground assault instead of the air flyers, but with upgraded flyers and turrets (through research) air really isn't much of a threat other than an occasional brood lord that gets out of the range of your shit. I was a little sad you don't get to play much of the other species in this game, but apparently there is a sequel on the way that will address that. Time to move on to online play I suppose!
