Yeah but it is impossible to tell what we could learn from this. There are an infinite number of good (and bad lol) things that could come from this. Think of all the unintended inventions and innovations that have come from research.

I'd be willing to bet this has been run through a bunch of simulators, which are generally close to correct for these sorts of things.

Steven fucking Hawking doesn't even know what's going to happen when the power is ramped up. He admits this and even points out that there could very well be no economic benefits to the experiments. To me it sounds more like a smart kid pissing match.
