1980 Nissao 280z Good, Bad, or Ugly?

Guy from Roanoke wants to sell his 280z that he restored, but says won't start anymore. He's selling it for 850 bucks, not a bad deal at all for this car in my book.
What do you all think?

A restored car for 8-fiddy? Hmmm. Being that its a '80, its a ZX, the ugly son of S30 Z. Regardless, go over it with a very fine toothed comb. Bring tools, jack, lamps and a magnet.
Oh, and a friend that will poke his finger through the floorboard testing for rust before promptly leaving.

"Restored" in this case means body filler and Earl Scheib and that's if you're lucky. Walk. Away. Slowly. Don't make any eye contact or sudden movements.

Run, don't walk, away. It's a 280zx (78 was the last year of the z), which is not nearly as desirable, and since it doesn't run you won't be able to troubleshoot any of its other issues. They still rust like crazy, are restricted by emissions bullshit, and really don't have any major perks to them. The 280zxt is really the only MY'79-'83 which is remotely sought after.
If you are still considering it, I have a 280zxt that I'll sell you for only a little bit more. I won't bullshit you on the condition or tell you it's been restored either. Hell, I can probably even get mine running for you...

Meh. Spend the $1400 on Adam's 300zx... It runs and has up to date maintenance. For double the price I'd take a working car over something that requires a trailer...

Which one of us was at "fault" for bending the frame rail when we tried to jack it up? I can't remember.
Sigh, sometimes I wish I bought that car. What could have been (after a pile of money and personal ruin)

Lol I just remember poking holes through the floorboard under the carpet and then thinking....jacking this up might not be a good idea. I remember the drive back too, stupid Justin just had his HIDs in and hadnt adjusted them so his bright ass shit was shining right in my mirrors.
