No. Someone didn't properly adjust the clamshell once they were done installing the turbo. Easy fix.

I would almost agree with you, but I went back and looked at all the gaps... It's not just the clamshell.

This is badass. One of the most infamous cars FS, for years big money street racers would trailer in race cars to race this little 3.0L street car in Chicago.

1993 Supra, 88k miles, built 3.0L, Garrett 88mm turbo, 272 cams, Virtual Works mani, GM TH400 trans, Weldon fuel system, AEM EMS, Tein coilovers. $33k in Sandy Hook, CT. Car has run 8.45@162 with the 3.0L power record at a supposed 1,520whp - still disputed.

Correctamundo. The TH400 is damn near indestructible. Most build the stock Toyota auto, but those start to let go around ~800whp. Several shops offer conversions for these cars for serious drag cars. They do rob a lot of power though, which only makes you consider that the original builder of the car likely had a street driven 2000hp car.
