Them's fightin' words. Prepare to be schooled in your own E36.
Dunno how much help I'd be though... mine is pretty soft and takes forever to 'set' into a corner at autoX speeds. Then it has gobs of grip and is usually fairly neutral, but by then you're already turning toward the next section. And usually the colder the pavement is, the loose-er it is, no matter what I adjust... also my UUC shifter sucks for the typical VMP course 3rd-to-2nd downshift at speed, and the seat/wheel/pedal positions are no good for heel-toe... oh and the brakes take a while to come up to temp... and the sun got in my eyes...
Just thought I'd get some of the excuses outta the way early

Actually, I had a question, do you think that 10" numbers off of izoomgraphics.com that are outline numbers (65 dollar one) with alpine white center and black outline show up well enough for autox and track duty? I assume cause its white itll be totally fine with the black outline, but I also dont want to make it hard to read.

You are a true baller if you pay $65 for numbers. I think they're about $20 a set locally for 10" single color. Or, of course, $4 for a roll of blue masking tape.
Anyway, I'd have to see it in person but that sounds visible enough to me as long as the black outline is significant. I guess worst case you get called in and cover the white part with the aforementioned $4 tape

Oh dang. I'm supposed to be up in NoVA on the 23rd for photo work. If that falls through, I'm totally in for VMP. I've been driving my car too much like a Toyota lately. It needs to experience some redline and g-forces and hard braking.

Hahah I figured id get a nice set after 30+ autoxs and 5 track weekends. I think what did it was the last one I forgot my numbers and had to put on this really sticky black tape from tech shed that turned into a humongous pain in the ass to get all the adhesive off. Whats sad, is I will order these numbers, and still reinforce em with tape (I am getting the magnetic or reusable vinyl.)
Yeah thats why im cautious about buying it...I think itll look halfway decent, (good question is why do I care) but I want to make sure it shows up clearly so I dont have to waste my numbers.
....20 bucks? for magnetic or reusable vinyl? Shit where do I order that?

The big question is, on Jan 24th, am I better off with all seasons or summers?

As I do not own anything but summer tires, they get my vote. Even match
IDK really, who knows with temperatures and if you can get either tire up to "optimal" temp for best grip. Guessing A/S will have a lower best-grip-temp.

Joey if the temp is anything below 40 A\S, summer tires will do nothing but be rock hard in temp's below 37, My car will actually spin tires in the winter above 5kish rpm, and these are new brand new g forces less than 5k miles. Even better would be a set of winter tires if you have them, or can find a cheap pair

I was wondering about the tire question as well--- My all seasons were terrible when I started autocrossing, but I cant imagine that putting my summers back on would yield better results. Thoughts?

this is just like the "it might rain" so should I put which tires on in the NASA paddock. You dont want to be caught on either end if its the wrong one.

To cold for all you other pussies?
Yes, my excuses are the same every season. I don't own suitable tires for 30 degree autocrosses or 2 hour drives in whatever weather late January brings. Now, if it were 45 degrees and sunny, that's another story. I've already got a sick google calender set up for my regular season events though.
