i only played the dirt 1 demo and it was fun, pretty good. I usually trust the reviews from Gamespot.com may wanna check it out if you haven't already.

kaan, have you tried grid? it's basically dirt on pavement, which i prefer, but still not as good as forza. you're welcome to borrow it if you'd like. i think we can schedule a meeting

Picked up ODST last night at midnight. Skipped straight to playing Firefight with my roommate and his brother (over Live). Firefight turns out to be a lot of fun. There's a different satisfaction when you kill 100 bad guys rather than 10 to 20 guys on multiplayer. There's also a sweaty palm factor when your back is up against the wall and a bunch of Brutes with hammers are swinging for ya. I'm gonna get a lot of play out of this.

I only played a little bit of campaign mode. The pace is a lot slower than regular Halo. The HUD is cool but some parts of the city are so dark you still are all but blind even with the HUD. One thing that I'm not sure about is whether I can actually sneak up on the enemies. It seems like I got spotted sometimes when I shouldn't have been.

I'm happy so far, we'll see how long it takes to complete the campaign.

I'm actually really glad to hear about the multiplayer. I am an "ok" halo player, and I regularly have a lopsided k/d ratio when playing online. I simply don't have the time that these 12 year old punks have to devote to honing my 1337 Skillz. My favorite games by far are the 'tactical' ones or the 'large group' ones, since I'm far better at those than I am jumping while firing with the sniper rifle.

So maybe I'll buy this. Or maybe MW2.

im really pumped about modern war 2, I was upset the story was short, so im hoping this game is a bit longer.

i'm picking this up today, but if had to make a choice, i'd wait for mw2. i'm buying odst 100% for the campaign; i've never really cared for halo online.

Same here. I'm a single player campaign kind of guy...multiplayer is a nice bonus for me, but the big draw is the narrative.

I'm tempted to get ODST but I just don't have the time right now. I'm really looking forward to MW2 but it comes out one month before my last day of grad school. I'm not sure I'm going to be able to hold out because Mike will buy 3 other games in that time. :lol:

the driving feels very dull or muted. i don't feel as "connected" to the car as in f2. regardless, i'll still get it.

I played around with F3 for a little last night

it does look really good
I like the in-car view, its kinda crazy how different the experience is behind the wheel vs. on the bumper.

I think I'm going to try and play them back to back with the same cars to get a better feel of the changes - it's been awhile since I've raced a stock car in F2.

How has everyone made out in Firefight in ODST. On Tuesday we did 4 player on System Link and got up to 400,000 points and the 4th set (2 hrs 9 minutes hock: ). DJ set up shop and had 100k pts by himself, as did I. Haven't been able to get a good 4 player crew together since then though.

I tried played Firefight alone on Legendary so I could rack up a bunch of points by myself but it's stupidly hard. No way to get far playing alone. I lasted 26 minutes on Heroic alone but that's not saying much. I think that even though you have a shared pool of lives it still gives you a huge advantage to do it four player.

I wanna get together a game on Live here sometime this weekend but I'm not sure when I'll have time. I'll post when I know I'll be home to see if anyone cares to join.

We should do another one of those next week on live or in person. I may pick up the game if we were to setup weekly tourneys, I just dont play unless im playing with friends and id rather get use out of my xbox. Aside from us playing that one night, I think ive gotten on XBOX to play maybe once this month. Im also living on my own and am never at home, thatll change more during the winter and once I get a place with some friends, so I dont feel tooo bad about my xbox "investment".

BTW- Thanks for hosting us. It was a lot of fun and very good food. Big thumps up from me! I couldnt beleive we played that long!

i have no interest in halo 3.1. i don't pay full price for expansion packs.

i also tried the dirt 2 demo last night... something about the series doesn't interest me. i guess it's just offroad racing in general?

and has anyone gotten trials hd? awesome arcade title. check out the demo at the very least.
