I know a bunch of us around HBurg are itching to get out and drive somewhere. We could cruise up and down Port Republic, but I'm thinking somewhere with turns would be more fun.
So. Meet us tomorrow at 1 PM at the Rockingham parking lot for a cruise. 33W is the road of choice.
See you there!

Love the pic of the Mini, Miata, and ///M all in a row. Stupid Caravan in the shot though. And Sapphire Blue (aka Goody's Miata) is the bomb dot com.
We had a great drive today - perfect weather and not a lot of traffic. Cabell's shaggin' wagon kept up when the roads got twisty and I personally enjoyed wringing out 2nd gear for 20 minutes at a time
Slight downer on the day, going home by Blue Hole. Traffic in front of me (the lead car) stopped short while we were going about 10 mph, and Dave (our last MM car) gave Joey's M3 a love tap. Both cars are fine - aside from cosmetic stuff - so insurance will be inspecting the M3 on Thursday. We're thinking a new rear bumper, taillight, and exhaust bits. I'm glad nobody was hurt, and that the cars weren't hurt worse, but it goes to show that accidents happen, even going that slow.

Real sorry to hear about the little scuffle to those involved. Some people just have no idea of those behind them on the road; I remember we almost had an accident like this on that Skyline cruise last year...people slamming on their brakes at the last minute to make that turn into the scenic lookout etc. Idiots...
I know its a bum way to start the year and get to know MM but I hope it doesn't dampen your spirits.

It wasn't that bad, neither of us were hurt and that's really all that matters. I'm bummed out dave's car sustained so much damage. My car is going to be fine. I'm trying to decide what exhaust i want to try next. I've heard dinan is good n'loud but doesn't drone like my B&B.
Hey Evan, will you post the pics you took from Jakes car?
Or better yet, facebook friend me (Joey Klimchuk) and tag me,

from what I've heard about the Dinan exhaust, its basically just a gutted out version of the stock one. The previous owner of my M had it and he wasn't a huge fan. He said it sounded too "ricey" for him. I absolutely 100% love my schnitzer set up, well except for the DTM style tips......
Exhausts are for ricers :bootyshake: No exhausts are for real men

Alright, well I have asked Goodspeed and it is alright to borrow his jack, so I will be bringing some small tools (emphasis on small, so PLEASE if you are wanting something done, let me know what tools I may need to bring).
Therefore I need to find out from Goodspeed if it is alright if we work on our cars outside his garage/ in his garage, or that we need to find another location. I do not know the rules of his place. If it is not feasible, I hope that some other current student's place will be available. And if you had a grill I know I would be more than willing to go to a quick trip to costco and grab some drinks (no beer for those on the cruise sorry) and hamburgers/hot dogs/whatever you want to grill.
There are some people that work, some people that wont be coming into town till later, so the cruise will probably be mid-afternoon to late afternoon.
My phone number is (seven 0 Three) SIX7FOUR-NINETYNINE7ONE if you would like to join/can bring a grill/want to hang out/get your car worked on/have a place where we can work on, etc.

I need to rotate my tires/add my spacers/replace my fogs, but I need to do that earlier on. I'm doing my own cruise to c-ville with a lady friend to pick up my computer from being serviced at Best Buy in the afternoon, so I won't be taking part in the cruise.
Unless you guys wanna go show UVA whose boss.

^ I don't have a problem with people using my garage. I have to work until 7pm so I'm out for the cruise.
My complex, and particularly my area of it, doesn't have the best parking, but if multiple people need work done you could perhaps get away with parking somewhere else on the complex (no passes req'd) and rotate.
If you're interested my only two requirements are that you 1) don't make a mess; I keep it pretty clean in there. Oil/fluid changes = put cardboard down entirely, and take out your trash when you're done, and 2) promptly GTFO when I get home
You could do work here, no one is ever really parked here. No parking passes either, just be clean. And yeah, i have zero tools so that could be an issue but we want more room we should be set here.

theres a small lot under my balcony that could be used, usually its empty during the day and sunchase doesnt tow during daylight hours. plus theres plenty of room to grill.
so what time should we start the cruise, say maybe 3pm?

So when and where are we doing the wrenching part?
