11 grand? Does it come with coke in the trunk?

It's like domestic guys laughing their asses off at people who are willing to pay 30k for a 15 year old Supra with 100k miles. To me that makes no sense. :dunno:

Paying 30k for a Supra doesn't make any sense to me either, but 11k for a stock fox body is absurd. Maybe 11k for a Saleen or something, that would be OK, but why should I buy THIS car instead of paying 1/4 that for a nice 89 GT? Like this one: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/cto/1282086859.html">http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/ ... 86859.html</a><!-- m --> Or this is nice too (again, for half money!) <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/cto/1282534276.html">http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/ ... 34276.html</a><!-- m --> Or you could be all vanilla ice in this one: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/cto/1280242105.html">http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/ ... 42105.html</a><!-- m --> I'm legitimately curious. I know we get a lot of absurdly priced shit in this thread, but I really want to know why that one is worth double to triple what a reasonable person would pay for a foxbody.

CaptainHenreh Wrote:fiveoh2go Wrote:CaptainHenreh Wrote:11 grand? Does it come with coke in the trunk? No, but if you ask nice he might throw in a meth lab starter kit. The reason that LX coupe commands a high asking price is back when the Fox body cars were new, people who bought them as an investment bought GT's or '93 Cobras as they looked down the road and saw that those cars might be worth something later on. Buyers that just wanted a fast, lightweight, and cheap Mustang to race bought the LX notchbacks as they were the most affordable 5.0 sold at the time. So trying to find a 5.0, 5-spd notchback that is stock, in nice shape, has low miles, and hasn't been beaten to death at the track is very hard to do. Go look on Autotrader and you can find GT's and '93 Cobras all day long with under 25k miles and in like new condition. The key to this car being worth so much is that it has all the things a collector is looking for such as it being a notchback, having no paint work, a desirable paint color, V8 with a 5-spd, low miles, and it's very close to stock. The reason this car isn't worth much is that it's modded and it's a hatchback. http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/c...86859.html The reason this car isn't worth much is that it's a completely different body style. http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/c...34276.html The reason this car isn't worth much is that it's a convertible. http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/c...42105.html

Yeah but there's worth as much and then there's "worth double".
I mean, c'mon. It doesn't even have AC! 11 grand? What I'm hearing from you is that these were the cheapest 5.0's you could buy, and so people liked them because they could race them. I get that part. I guess "collectors" pay exorbitant prices for dumb shit, but I just don't see how this is worth 11 THOUSAND DOLLARS. Did it even cost that much new?

Believe me, I wish this car was only selling for 5k-6k, if it was it would be mine. Now is the time to buy, they will only increase in value. And as for the factory A/C delete option you pointed out, that makes it worth more to the collectors. Very few were built without A/C.

People will ask what people are willing to pay. I'm sure within the Mustang community there is someone that will buy that car, whereas to an outsider its batshit insane to ask/spend that much. Same with people dropping serious coin on Poopras.

That Typhoon though... man, I wouldn't pay nine grand. For $9k, it better be like the Miata was - clean body, no accidents, everything functional, a few dings and scratches, and kinda stock. If I got a Typhoon or Syclone, I'd want the stock wheels, windows that worked, doors that lined up with the body, and non-ricer-boi taillights.

Id totally rock that Typhoon. It's probably relatively well priced and could be sold for more with a little TLC while you drive around and enjoy having something that you don't see every day.
That RS makes me tingly. So hottt.

Does anybody know out of curiousity if swapping a 325is engine in a 318i will qualify as a 325is car in spec E30? Since spec E30 next year does not allow 318....reduces the number of cars avaialble to build a spec e30.
