Enough with the income restrictions. If you live in certain major metro areas (NY, DC, LA, SF, etc) you cant afford a house making less than that.

perhaps you missed the part of partial credit for higher-income buyers. i need to look into the details of this, but it could also be your taxable income (which should be significantly lower if you contribute to a 401(k) or have any other tax shelters
ps - mike is on to something... couple-up and make sure you and your 'other' don't make more than 150k

Most of the deductions are based on Adusted Gross Income (AGI)

Casey and I qualified for Bush's $7500 first home buyers credit. BYE BYE Some of our Debt , we don't mind it. Especially since we were gonna have to pay it back, but if I have heard/read correctly this stimulus will counter that and we wont have to.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

Propping up someone else's income for a tax credit? :dunno:
Heh I wish that tax credit applies to a purchase last year... at least I got to write off $7500+ in interest paid on my house this past year. That and the fact that I'm 1099 now and write off tons of stuff, I got a decent refund coming back
