just get Boobies to rig up a walmart space heater in the footwell with an extension cord and duct tape.

anyway, if you can handle biking in the freezing cold with no gloves you can handle driving a sealed up car through the same weather. put a heater in it when it gets warmer -- you have months to research how to do it. man up!

So, fly down and check it out, rent a u-haul while you're down and tow the Z back with that (gas is cheap). I can't say that I'd be keen on driving a new car of that vintage all the way from Atlanta (if you choose this route, wear gloves and a very warm coat).

2400 is overestimating for the weight on that car. I weighed mine w/ AC and everything and I'm pretty sure that it was less than that. I have the heater core and such from mine that I would probably give you, since I have no idea if it even works and no intentions of putting it back in.

ya. i read 2355 curb, but figured the new engine must weigh a bit more than the old. i want to do it, but it smells so bad of bad financial decision.

However I am looking to get into something different by later next year and the Z is top of my list. I want a carbe'd L-motor car however, but at 7k for a supposed rust free example this is well deserving a new owner.

runs great... three times a year. can't figure out something with an axle that doesn't seem to be long enough despite it being the right part and the exact same size as all the other axles... it doesn't go all the way in to the cup (and yes, i've bought several extras... all have the same issue).

I looked in my logs when I got home and mine weighed 2283 with the gas tank drained but all components in place as if leaving the dealer. The iron blocks on these things are pretty damn heavy, so that newer motor might actually be about the same weight.

I, for one, think that it is a great decision and if I didn't have mine I would probably be on the phone with him right now. Hell, I'm still tempted :-). No car is ever a good investment, but this price is far less than the sum of the car's parts IMO.

something just doesnt seem right, cars like this dont sell for that cheap. The last time I bought a car that looked great in pics and on paper it ended up being a POS salvage rebuild

Dunno what y'all think of the Honda CRXs, but I think they're cool little cars. My mom had an '86 model (bought new) for a few years and said it was the best car she's owned.

This is a good deal on a decent mileage, rare Lex...1993 Lexus SC300 5-speed, bone stock, 73k miles. A few rough cosmetic spots but all VIN tags in place, 5k near NYC.

If it really is that good of a deal, buy it now, enjoy it for a few months, and then sell it mid summer when you could get the same or even higher price from it.

Besides that, on older cars who gives a crap if it's been totalled or anything else...that rarely has an effect of the value. It's kind of like how mileage becomes irrelevant the older a car gets
