Probably because people who are 20 can't imagine what it's like to be 40. If you adjusted the medians based on "people they know" or in other words, framed it based on their world, the median would be considerably lower. It ain't ballin' if your aggregate household age is 90, but the comment wasn't really directed at anyone like that... much less Feersty.

I think you're being naive if you think $250k is the hard "Barry bends you over" number.
He lowered it to $200k shortly after the debates, and Biden said $150k a couple weeks before the election.

20 Highest income Communities in th United States: That's household income is it not? In that case, $250k is 2.5 times higher than the highest average household income community in the country.
$250k is not totally out there but it's fairly uncommon. Even with a college education there are not a ton of fields that pay more than $125k a year in salary until you get into executive positions (or graduate degreesz). Technical fields and stuff like law and medicine do, but then you'd need two people under the same roof with jobs like that.
Like Chris said though, it also depends on the age bracket. By the time a couple is in their forties they're much more likely to be in that income bracket.

Just to put that in perpsective:
guesstimating the US population at 300,000,000: there were 40,621,000 colle graduates in the US in 2003. That's only 13.5%. Figure in the chances that college educated people marry other college grads, and stay together (considering marriage success statistics are at like, 50%, and college grads don't marry only college grads), AND that they do well with their degrees (as there are plenty of total failures with higher education), I think it's totally fair to cut the number in half: you're at under 7% of households in America by education alone.
So sure, it's easy to say that few people in the US really have baller earning potential... but that's why we're going [went] to college, isn't it?

the more important question is how perfectly intelligent people have gotten suckered into the Class Warfare hysteria where thinking that just because an anticaptialist tax hike doesnt affect you or your friends makes it ok?

There's a difference between being okay with it an accepting it (for now) because it doesn't impact you. It has to with a desire to address more immediate concerns that DO impact.
