grado sr80 - can't be beat for less than $150

Wanted an 'inexpensive' set of sound-cancelling headphones and i like these a lot. Incredible sound, comfortable, 'ok' for running, and cannot hear anything other than the music at normal volume levels. My only complaint is that the wires from the buds is VERY short, although they offer an extension. The extension works fine, but it's another disconnection point.

I travel every week and they're great for travelling and working out. It's basically an ear-plug with a canal for music. It comes with a cleaning tool, a nice carrying case and multiple sets of ear-bud covers for a choice of comfort.

Sony MDR-V600

They're probably 8 years old and starting to fall apart. It's about time for an upgrade.

Not my first choice by far but my options were limited since I use my BB Pearl (with 2.5mm jack) at the gym. They work well for 3 hours a week and stay on my head, which is all I ask.

I just use the standard headphones that come with the Ipod Touch. When I start putting a DJ setup together I'm gonna pick up a pair of these: Sony MDR-V700DJ Monitor Series

Koss KSC-35. Cult following for a good reason. Best headphones Ive ever listened to. They look dinky but they will blow you away.

Koss Pro3AA Titanium. My first pair of "good" headphones. Amazingly detailed, bright highs, but not a lot of bass. Koss lifetime warranty was used when the strap broke

Sennheiser HD212 Pro. Good all-around, very comfy. Bass heavy but slightly less detailed in the midrange and highs than the koss. What I wear mostly at work since they can be worn for very large periods and give just enough sound isolation but not too much like the IEMs

2 pairs of Sennheiser CX300. My first IEMs. very good overall. midrange and highs are amazing. Bass is pretty good for an IEM. Better sounding than all of the more expensive IEMs and most of the much more expensive IEMs that Ive listened to . Overall Im not a huge fan of the IEMs, make my ears itch.

Lenntek Sonix. Just got these, havent listened to them yet. Word on the street is that they are amazing and better than the CX300s. We will see. at least they are pimpy looking

a couple other pairs of Koss titanium driver portable headphones that I travel with. Forget the model numbers. Best you can get under $20

JVC Sound cancelling headphones. Pure shit. I think ive thrown them away.

Absolutely love these, use them for my Zune, great sound for the money, considering the Zune "Premium" earbuds by Sennheiser I believe are $40 bucks and I like how they have the adjustable jellies to fit various ears. Fiancee liked em so much she bought some to match her pink Ipod.

That's still the benchmark that most DJs use... I have it's predecessor the MDR-V600DJ - still an awesome set after 8 years of use.

Ya, I've had them for a while now. I have no complaints about them at all, but am thinking of going with the SR225s or SR325s just cause I've got some money burning a hole Tongue

Then again, I don't do much hi-fi listening, so it may just be a waste and the 125s will suit me.

Edit: Just did a lot of reading... Think I'm gonna stick with the 80s. You're welcome to come listen whenever you want... Or just come pick them up for a week or so.

right now i have a cheapo Koss UR/10 headphone

i mostly listen to music, not much gaming anymore. what do you guys recommend for under 40 bucks or so, to plug into my logitech speaker? these things were meant as a hold-me-over and hurt after extended periods of time. plus the sound isn't that great anyway.

Bose TriPort In-Ear Headphones

I can wear them all day at work and forget I have them in. Not so good for travel as the tips can come off, but they never leave my desk so it works for me.

I use some V-Moda Vibe Duo's with my iPhone. Wayyy better sound than the Apple 'buds, and they stay in my ears at the gym. They also retain the microphone and button from the Apple set, so I can change tracks/pause music/answer calls from the headset.

I also have some Bose TriPort headphones for travel. They're decent. I'm not a fan of Bose for lots of reasons, but the price was right 3 years ago, and they block out enough noise while sounding pretty good. The headband gets kinda uncomfortable after a while (3+ hours) but aside from that, they're fine:

The bass sounds pretty good and the highs are very bright. They're comfortable to wear for a little while but my ears get kinda hot if I'm wearing them for a really long time. They do block out ambient sound very well though hence why I have them at work.

These are my jam. But I actually liked my friends 100's a little better. The 100 is flat and just sits outside your ear, the 200 has a little foam right that is supposed to help close in the sound more like a full size headphone. In reality it just takes some getting used to it sitting like it does on your ear. Best part is how they fold up and go in a neat little hard case.
