Nope, but you can save yourself an assload of cash if you buy a GMC, Lincoln or Mercury truck and end up with something nicer in the end (Ford and Chevy if you don't care about the baller interior).

Do you want to eventually tow a car with it, or just haul house stuff and have a comfy ride?

If you want to tow, a full size (F150, Silverado, etc) can be had for cheap if parking/city driving is not an issue - and the lower purchase price will offset the reduced fuel mileage for quite some time over a newer Frontier/Taco. Just food for thought. I'd lean toward the Taco though, will certainly have the edge for parking and resale.

Every Toyota truck I've ever owned has been a gem. STRONGLY CONSIDER used Tundras man, they're so low in price now. Ask G, he's got one too (or used to, dunno if he still has it).

When i get around to tracking the GSX, i will be looking for a Tow vehicle but for 2-3 years hauling house shit is the extent of its service. If i plan on towing the car before then i can borrow dads truck for the weekend. I am going to start looking into fullsize just to weigh it in with the Frontier/Tacoma.

Get the Tacoma if you want a truck. Xterra isn't a truck. Frontier is barely one. WTF is the FJ anyways. Tacoma's a good effing truck.

that changes things a bit. resale will be a concern in which case i would highly recommend the Taco also. as i said before my dad had one, and while it wasn't powerful even with the V6 it was a hoss and could handle whatever we dumped in the bed, including a full load of wet mulch. and was pretty tightly built.

he had over 3 offers for it before he even listed it for sale. it sold in 5 days (this was before the OMG GAS times but still).

I still think you're a fool to not consider a full-size truck. Why not buy an F-150/GM 1500/whatever and get a truck for a smaller price than a Taco that will not only exceed your current need but provide you the ability to tow your car anywhere that you need. There's something to be said for having the foresight that you may need it later down the road and you're currently in a position to buy, why have to go through this twice?
If you insist on a baby truck, get the Taco or the Frontier. The FJ is nothing more than a 2-door wagon on steroids IMO.

yea pretty sure ive decided on a Taco, after thinking about it, the FJ's neat/cool factor will probably wear off. So The search begins for a Tacoma, crew cab 4x4.

Yea, test drove a White 4x4 TRD Offroad Package long bed and regular bed, was very nice. The ride IMO was better than my dads F150, but it obviously still had the ride of a truck, and plenty of GO for merging on to the interstates.
