mrbaggio Wrote:Does anyone else think it's retarded to pay almost 30k for a 15 year old mazda? yeah, I wasn't really impressed...especially since you could buy that drivetrain pretty much on the cheap since the LS6 came out. I guess thats why it's been for sale for quite a while already

mrbaggio Wrote:Does anyone else think it's retarded to pay almost 30k for a 15 year old mazda? I suppose, if you look at it as simple dollars and cents. But I don't think that applies to a niche-used car. Despite the ever-increasing new car performance market, there are still people out there like me that would gladly pay 30 grand for a decade-plus old car such as this rather than on a new 350Z, Mustang, etc.

The first person I ever saw driving an RX-7 was a hair dresser. That car is forever ruined.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

12k will buy you an LS7 crate motor these days, which an LS1 and LT1 is a far cry from.
Edit: hell, I just looked it up, and you can get a long block LS2 for $5500 for an instant 400hp - just add starter, basically.

10k for a 1986 Monte Carlo SS aerocoupe. This is a super rare car - 1 of 200 made. He said in the thread this is #65 i think. This car won't do anything but go up in value, as long as it's not wrapped around a tree. This is not a bad price, as a standard unrestored 86 SS would cost at least 6k these days.
