No clutch / drivetrain upgrade with all that power?
Looks really clean and well taken care of though... hope it checks out! 8)

I dunno. Seems like a pretty good deal to me. 70k miles, supercharged? Sweet.

Reed,
Assuming everything from RRT checks out.......just buy it.
It drove like a dream and is honestly one of the cleanest E36s I've ever seen.

Mike Wrote:e36m3 + mods? no thanks. Although, the most failure prone parts of e36's don't really have anything to do with mods. Mostly exploding plastic water pumps, radiator necks, coilpacks, interior body panels bubbling and falling off, electric windows/seats and various other electronic things.
The only common failure item that would be accelerated with mods are the rear shock mounts which will be stressed more with a stiffer suspension. I wouldn't really be worried about the power mods because the engines are fairly bullet proof if they're maintained, and this one appears to be.
Oh and the DINAN stuff was designed to not void the warranties, because of that it's pretty conservative and waaay more expensive than other aftermarket parts.

... yeah, but whoever owned the car before probably ragged the crap out of it. That's what would worry me.
When it comes to Ryan Jenkins, the story ends with me putting him in the wall.

Yeah, but not necessarily. Most people who looked at my STi when it was for sale probably said the same thing, but I babied that thing like crazy. If it was an enthusiast it was likely driven how it should be, but not past the boundaries of seriously stressing drivetrain / engine parts.

Well I signed my life over to my credit union today. I must say how impressed I am with the guys over @ RRT. I didn't think it was possible to have such a comprehensive PPI. They really looked into everything that could possibly be wrong with the car. Granted the list they gave back was somewhat long, but the way I look at it - these are (hopefully) the only real problems with the car for the foreseeable future. There were a few more mechanical issues than I was hoping for, but they were nothing really unexpected (RTABS, CABs, guibo).

What exactly are those problems? Describe the acronyms ha ha

that car is gorgeous, im really diggin the wheels
Yeah the wheels do look pretty good. I'm not usually a fan of black wheels, but they do seem to fit this car really well. Maybe in a few months I take them off, I wouldn't be complete opposed to something stock, or at least "look" more stock, maybe just some regular RCs - I don't really need the bling forged-ness.
as far as maintence:
the "guibo" is the front driveshaft bushing and it is a cracked a little
the RTABs are the rear trailing arm bushings
and CABs are just the control arm bushiings
apparently E36 M3s like to eat bushings?
o and the right rear "spring silencer" is cracked - all in all, more work and $$ than I wanted, but I scored a pretty killer deal so I'm not crying just yet
Nice buy yo. I hope the maintenance doesn't get the best of you!
