That is oops..
I can't believe you pulled into your garage and half the engine fell apart. Good thing they hid a larger turbo in there somewhere.

Frank 4 turbocharger. Its actually a garrett internals with a 60 compressor wheel and tdo6 exhaust wheel with a 17c mitsubishi compressor cover to look more stock. About 400-450 on pump, 500 pump with meth injection (which I have) and a possible 600 wheel top end with race gas of course. However I have completely stock engine, completely stock headgasket and studs (the weak point). So I am just gonna keep it hopefully at 400whp at about 20-22 psi on pump with meth for safety until I throw in some ARP headstuds. On track ill keep it down to 15 psi which "should be" (key word) around 325-350awhp. More than enough to get the job done at the track.
The previous turbo was an upgraded b16g, but its max potential on pump gas was around 37-380awhp on pump with a good tune (with the cams, intake manifold, tb and manifold I have), but that is on the edge and high intake temps. Went to a big turbo tto bring down my intake temps so I can just easily run 350awhp on track and turn up the boost in case that miata is catching up to me . With the ducting and oil cooler I now have along with meth/water injection and the larger turbo, I hope to have absolutely NO problem with cooling, but we will see. If I dont like this turbo ill go back to my 16g, it was plenty fucking quick, I just got this turbo for free, so I had to try it out. Edit: Lee, only problem is its gonna spool a lot later than your baller gt35r. I really wish I could just get a 3056r, oh well, broke college student for the win. I got suspension to work out before any real baller turbo.

Weaksauce. You'll want to ditch that hybrid once you feel the lag.
And Lee's baller GT35R would spool hella quck IF IT WASN'T MINE NOW BEOTCH. -T

^^^^ Travis, the only reason why its not gonna be too bad is I have anti-lag and no lift-to-shift and ill be at mostly high rpms on track. When are you ever below 4 grand on track?
But you do explicity voice my concerns. But who knows? I may keep it and just build a 2.4 block and have that spool it more quickly, as I said....I dont know, we will see. I just had to try it with the turbo sitting in my room. PS- Goodspeed.....I told you stock headstuds < 500awhp. Yeah, ill be taking it easy for a while, thats why I may move the 2.4 block up in schedule. Pick up a block and start building it this semester, will be my first engine build by myself, I hope I can do it or at least make it a very good learning experience.

Nice man, are you running true EMS yet? You may need it with all of that power potential... especially if you're going to be running it hard on the track.

DSMLink is more friendly than AEM for a daily driver but has 99% of the capabilities at my power levels of AEM unless I wanted to go speed density, which might be an option with the next version of dsmlink coming out soon.
Allows up to 1000cc injectors just plug and play and idle like dead stock and brings fuel trims in line, control over timing, VE efficiency tables, of course fuel tables, has anti-lag, stutterbox, no-lift-to-shift, nitrous/meth controls, and many more things. Main thing, NO check engine lights, and it fools the OBD2 readers off inspection stations into thinking my car is perfect. Its funny to watch the inspection guys get confused with No cat, a dump tube, no EGR, Charcoal Canister, and yet....the car passes with flying colors saying they all work...They call in their buddies, take a look around, just cant figure it out...

Pictures up, I would like any suggestions from the road race guys about brake ducting, is there any wrong way to route? Tricks or tips on getting the ducting to rotate with the wheel? Oh and.....BLANG SUPRA!! err. DSM pics....

Good stuff! For some reason I thought you were still using a garbage SAFC. Now you need to start saving for a new forged shortblock with all of that power!!

Tricks or tips on getting the ducting to rotate with the wheel? Straight as possible, and duct to the center of the rotor. This is usually tough with axles in the way, but get creative. If you have room, run an extra, smaller duct to the calipers as well.

Come on baby, who sold you your DSMLink setup? I know what we're doing here way more so than the next guy. Obviously the lag won't really be a killer on track but I'm not a fan of those kind of hybrid turbos. There is a reason why they aren't popular anymore. Obviously you're going to find out whether you like it or not, report back to us. In fact...if you are doing this work this week in NoVa I might want to drop by and take a look. I'll be in town for the next week and a half so let me know. And they should know you'll never NEED to forge anything....just some ARPS and a good headgasket. But that doesn't mean I wouldn't do that 2.4 because you know I would. -T
