Brembos, lsd, and 300hp for 25k? holy fuck sign me up. The over the top concept car stuff like the cf everywhere looks like ass, but its a concept so they will tone it down. The lines of the car are fantastic. the 1 breaking my heart hurts less now

All the performance is great but I have to say, the styling leaves me wanting. Something doesn't look right. It's close but something is mis-proportioned and the articulation is a little too severe. It looks like it has alittle chinesey-fengdong-geely design element. Worst of all, it side profile looks like the old Tiburon and that is an abomination all unto itself.

The front is a little too short, I'd love to see them stretch the bonnet out just a little more to give it a longer nose and less "lump" in the front. That said, I really like it. If they really come to market with a similar car that performs well and has a good price, these will fly off the lots. I'm a firm believer in judging each car based on what it is, rather than the whole brand. Toyota hasn't made a car with any sack since they dropped the supra (Lexus doesn't count). You couldn't have given me a brand new Mitsubishi in the early 2000s (hell, I still wouldn't own any of them other than the EVO). If Hyundai really shines on this, and it sounds like they are using it as a jumping board for several vehicles, this could turn them into a major auto power. It sounds like they are doing a lot of re-branding and making their cars all run like a family, which is exactly what the rest of the market is doing; gone are the days where Hyundai takes years to catch up... Props to them for trying. I'm a little out of the loop on new cars, but if they really do this, I think they'll catch a huge group of people in a niche market. I don't know of any currently produced cars that can take this car on based on what's being said.

The concept looks like some of the Lexus concepts.
I'm liking this car more and more, and I'm curious to see what kind of tuner potential both of those engines have... since they're marketing it toward the tuner crowd. Come on though Evan, thinking that car is going to cost 25k with LSD, Brembos, and the most powerful motor is like wishing the 1 series would start at 26k. There is no way. I bet that car fully loaded is going to come into year end EVO / STi clearance territory.

good point. the good bits will probably be options.

I really hope I'm wrong. If they are that cheap with all the goodies then I think it would be the best thing that's come out in a long time for the tuner crowd. I just can't see how they can deliver that much of an upgraded product without using balsawood and glue for the subframe, or using illegal child slave labor.

It's the same way they do it for the Sonata. I mean, I had a Sonata as a rental car one time, and it was nice! The V6 left me wanting a little, and they styling was pretty lukewarm, but the interior was nice, the fit and finish was acceptable, and I generally forgot I was in a hyundai. Maybe they pay their assembly line workers in vespene gas.

I like the look of the orange one. More options for RWD cars is better for all of us.

i dig the proportions and the rear quarter window dip is OK but the front end looks like it's ready to sneeze or something.
