sorry for the delayed reply, i kept tripping over my massive epenis on my way back from lunch.

in any case, i'm sure every magazine and car show worth a damn will do a comparison between the new gtr and every other car in the same price segment. until then, this is all speculation. it will be a few years before we see its real potential.

Ask any racer, any real racer. It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile; winning's winning.

I live my life a quarter mile at a time. Nothing else matters: not the mortgage, not the store, not my team and all their bullshit. For those ten seconds or less, I'm free.

A couple of Nissan SR20's would pull a premium one week before race wars.

TORETTO! TORETTO! SWAT came into my house, disrespected my whole family because somebody narc'd me out! And you know what? IT WAS YOU! if you are going to use it... at least get it right people!

He *knows* I can box! So check it out, it's like this: If I lose, winner takes my car clean and clear. But if I win, I take the cash, *and* I take the respect!

You want a piece of ass, go to Hollywood Boulevard. You want an adrenaline rush that'll be two large.

It's not how you stand by your car, it's how you race your car.

You can have any brew you want... as long as it's a [PBR]. *edited for the PBR drinkers of MM*

You almost had me? You never had me - you never had your car... Granny shiftin' not double clutchin' like you should. You're lucky that hundred shot of NOS didn't blow the welds on the intake! You almost had me?

It's all right. I ain't losin'. This fool is running a Honda 2000. I'll win. Then me and my dad can roll together when he gets out of prison. It's all good.

You know what? This will decimate all... after we put about fifteen grand or more under the hood. If we have to, overnight some parts from Japan.

Every day for the last three weeks you've been coming in here and you've been asking me how the tuna is. Now, it was crappy yesterday, it was crappy the day before and guess what? It hasn't changed.

Spirit. Thank you. Thank you for direct-port nitrous injection, four-core intercoolers, ball-bearing turbos, and titanium valve springs. Amen.

.......... that should get the bullshit out of your system and count for me helping shit up the thread all that the same time.

holy crap Kaan, you summarized in entire movie in 2 minutes of reading, impressive.

Honestly, I really look forward to the new GTR. It will be a while before we'll start seeing them at the track, but I think we are all hard-pressed to write it off immediately. The vette is a known quantity b/c it has been around for a couple years now. The Skyline, on the other hand, has never even been seen in the U.S. aside from a few specially imported, which is a long way from qualifying for the kind of comparisons it gets put into. We should all be rejoicing that we finally are getting one, and even more so b/c it's another bonafide sports car which appears to compete well in its class. Again, we don't even see them driving around, so how are we going to do any real comparisons yet.

Keep in mind that the vette has always been the bang-for-your-buck winnAr, but if the GTR even puts up a good fight then it will be a win in Nissan's book.

I'm with Dave on this one.

When it comes to performance-looks-sex-coolness-sound(zomg) vs price, the Z06 wins damn near every competition. Even if the cars are equally fast (and they might be, fuck, I don't know) in every I still think the hand tips toward the Z06 for reliability (Six bolt main bearing caps? Holy fuck!) and that sweet, sweet, V8 pushrod sound.

The other thing that tips the scales towards the Z06 is that I can, you know, *buy* one. I could go to two or three different bowtie dealers right now and pay MSRP for one. (or pretty darn close.) Or hell, I could buy a used one, and save a couple of bucks. And in a few years, maybe the Z06 will be 25k (like an old 405 horse one is now) and I'll actually have a car with carbon fiber fenders and a magnesium roof.

When you can say the same thing about the GT-R, I suppose I'll get excited.

(Of course, if you're talking about performance per dollar, 4 wheels is the wrong way to talk about it, now isn't it?)

I agree. I love how the Vette looks like a widebody supercar, and the GTR looks like another strange sake-fueled, Initial-D modeled Hotwheels car.

Hey. Here's some know facts about the GTR.

Not a platform car. It's on its own "Premium Midship Platform"
MSRP below 80K according MotorTrend
Faster than Vette on the 'ring.

If the GTR is priced within 5-10K of the Vette Z06 (not ZR1), I say it's a better bargain.

Hey Jackass, I was pointing out the fact that folks were calling it a platform car and how expensive it was. I was pointing out that it's not true. Also the last two pages was mostly dickswinging and kaan's scary knowledge of F&F.
