new skyline - sk24iam - 02-10-2007 Looks like this will be on the market very soon... ![]() ![]() [/url]
- Nis01 - 02-10-2007 From what I've heard production has been pushed back to 2008. This car will be amazing but the price is going to be killer. - HAULN-SS - 02-10-2007 Too much Z, not enough sedan...for my tastes - CaptainHenreh - 02-10-2007 I'm waiting to see how much better this is than a 350Z with a turbo kit. - ScottyB - 02-11-2007 i can't stand the roofline. i'm sure it will perfom pretty amazingly though, considering the heritage it's holding up - Feersty - 02-11-2007 It is a interesting design, but will probably be in the 60,000$-70,000$ range. - G.Irish - 02-11-2007 The rear roofline still bothers me a little bit but overall I think it looks pretty good. I like it much better than the LF-A and that godawful Acura ASC concept. Road and Track was reporting that it will push around 450 hp but Nissan will purposefully leave a lot of power on the table for enthusiasts to uncover. They say it'll only be pushing 10 psi of boost from the factory so one could imagine what will be possible. Good to see that at least Nissan understands what it means to maintain the heritage of their flagship sportscar, unlike Honda :x - G.Irish - 10-17-2007 Well there are plenty of pics around of the new Skyline now and the specs have been revealed. 473 hp/434 ft-lbs tq 3.8L V6 Twin Turbo Dual Clutch Sequential Manual Tranny 3800 lbs hock:Supposedly 60 comes in 3.5 sec and the 1/4 mile is at 11.7. Pretty good I must say. As I expected it ain't no Z06 killa but it can seat 4 and its got teh boost so it'll be a pretty good car for the money if its your thing. This first drive article sounds a bit, I dunno, dumb, but very positive. http://autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dll/artic ... 17001/1065 I shall be seeing the car in ze flesh next week at the Tokyo Motor Show. I'll try to give a day by day on here. - Sijray21 - 10-17-2007 i also found this: http://www.autoblog.com/2007/10/17/offi ... -revealed/ pretty impressive, but i think the price will be quite high. i really like how it's more of a 350z/G35 coupe style. - Mike - 10-17-2007 Specs are nice, but looks? Not so much. - HAULN-SS - 10-17-2007 Sijray21 Wrote:pretty impressive, but i think the price will be quite high. i really like how it's more of a 350z/G35 coupe style. I actually hated that..how many more wedge shaped cars do we need on the road? ;\ - John - 10-17-2007 G.Irish Wrote:Good to see that at least Nissan understands what it means to maintain the heritage of their flagship sportscar, unlike Honda :x Nissan fails however by not using communities like SCCA to further develop their motorsports programs here in the US. Plus their support of racing (at least for the 350Z) was marginal at best... - WRXtranceformed - 10-17-2007 $80,000+ Nissan?? Come on. Gonna be a cool car, but it's ugly and will be more of a collector toy. - Evan - 10-17-2007 cover of new Motor Trend calling it the "Corvette Killer" um.....no. Not in this century. http://www.autoblog.com/2007/10/16/2008 ... tor-trend/ its sad when the car looks better with all the plastic bags and masking taped to it. - WRXtranceformed - 10-17-2007 Corvette killer? Are you serious? I predict the Z06 will annihilate that car in every category it goes up against... and how about the ZR1? That's going to be even more of a joke. I still contend, a collector toy this car will be. - Evan - 10-17-2007 for 50k it would be a nice deal. It needs to slot in well under the M5. Slower , not as practical and less bling. Maybe a little more than the m3. for 80k its a joke. its a shared platform, why the f do they need to charge 80k for it? - WRXtranceformed - 10-18-2007 I agree ... 50-60k, 65k loaded would be the sweet spot for this car imo. That would place it around M3 and brand new standard Vette in price and would thoroughly spank both of them. - ScottyB - 10-18-2007 Evan Wrote:its a shared platform, why the f do they need to charge 80k for it? two words: fan. boys. - .RJ - 10-18-2007 ScottyB Wrote:Evan Wrote:its a shared platform, why the f do they need to charge 80k for it?
- ScottyB - 10-18-2007 i've been thinking though....is 80k not a bargain for a 7:38 'ring time? the vette Z06 can't do it and the 911 is way more money. plus, the car pretty much drives itself  |
