same thing happened tonight. this time i knew it wasn't hydrolocked (happened at the same place, despite them doing construction that had fixed the issue the past few heavy rains) so i just powered through the stuttering. it was almost as if something felt clogged, and the application of gas suddenly dislodged it... i dunno.

As said before check the plug wires. This happend to one of my friends e34 5 series. Same symptoms and we pulled over and took off the plug wires and water had collected above the spark plugs.

but where could it have gone so quickly? car was fine after maybe 10 seconds of driving.
