Raining all day, heading home from ice cream at Jessica's (really, ice cream), get in the turning lane for my new street and POW huge puddle... I immediately get out of the lane and the car starts hestiating pretty badly... I pull off the road to an office building, I call up my roomate to bring a screwdriver (to open the stock airbox), he arrives, we open the airbox... DRY. WTF! I was so scared I hydrolocked my motor... I mean what else could it have been? I sit there for about 15 mintues looking at anything that might be wet... NOTHING. So I start it, it purrs like it should and I head home w/ a perfectly running car..

Any ideas?

damn Mike, i saw the thread title and thought your car got jacked. well if the airbox is dry.....you dont think you got any electical connections wet or anything did you? how much coverage do your wheel wells have? maybe there are some areas of the harness or something that shorted out for a sec. i doubt it had anything to do with fuel so i just keep thinking electrical.

I agree, gotta be something electrical. You'll probably never find it unless it gets worse. You could check out the dist cap to make sure there aren't any cracks, but I'm sure that car's missing some electrical covers and wraps here and there, those almost never get put back right with an engine swap-- it could be a lot of things.

Check the seals on the dizzy cap and the plug wires.

Apply dielectric grease to plug wire connections.
