Hell of a car accident.
#1
So Paul and I were involved in quite the car accident yesterday on I-66 just outside of Manassas yesterday. We were riding in Paul's GTI to go pick up a car he was buying. The plan was for him to drive his new car and me to drive the GTI back to the burg....but that didn't happen. So here's the story; we are following a Jeep Rubicon when the car in front of the Rubicon hits a dog. The wrangler slows down and gets to the right to avoid running over the dog so we slow down as well and get over on the shoulder to avoid the dog. Paul saw it coming in his mirror but I never did when a Lexus LX470 got over to miss the dog but never slowed down, no brake marks, no thing. We were traveling at around 25-30mph and the Lexus hit us going 70mph. It forced us into the jeep which then forced the jeep into a tree. We spun a good 3 360degree turns and finally came to a rest about 35-40ft from the interstate. The guy in the Lexus (who spoke zero english) never came to check on Paul or I or the Jeep driver even though I was bleeding from the head and it looked like a train had run over Paul's car.

All I remember before the impact is Paul having time to say "OH SHIT" and then BAM the lexus hit us. I remember the windshield cracking and when we finally came to a stop my feet were up on top of the dash somehow. My heels resting on the dash and my toes on the demolished windshield. Paul and I immediantely forced our doors open and jumped out not knowing the condition of the car, if it was on fire, if we were going to get hit again or what. When it was all said and done there was one totaled GTI (which was BEAUTIFUL), 11 staples in the back of my head, a sprained left calf, Paul's knee is bothering him pretty good and we both have quite the assortment of bumps and bruises. But we are both just thankful we were able to walk away. That GTI made the ultimate sacrifice for us.

Holy crap!

I'm glad you guys are 'ok'. That's no joke. Make sure to keep an eye on pains that get worse and not better, they're usually signs of damage you didn't notice before.

Did the driver of the Lexus have insurance? Everythig will covered, I hope?
When it comes to Ryan Jenkins, the story ends with me putting him in the wall.

Dude, we're having some serious MM accidents lately!! I'm glad you guys are okay Thayer!! That's a shame about the GTi, hopefully he'll be able to recuperate some of the money put into it and more importantly, I hope you guys fully recuperate physically. I agree, make sure you get some specialists to look at you and foot that Lexus driver the bill!

WOW! Thankfully you guys are ok, that looked like one scary impact. As said before, definitely don't hesitate to go back to the doctor or see a specialist.

Again, glad you guys are ok.

RIP Paul's GTI. I had the privelege of riding in that car on a few occasions and it sounded surreal.

Ryan's chilling on the couch right now, got him some krispy kreme donuts, I'm sure he'll be fine

Damn that sucks, adn I am glad to hear that you are all ok. A word of advice, when his insurance company wants you to sign something saying that you are ok, DON"T DO IT, even if you feel fine at the time, some injuries can pop up later, especailly back and neck things. Hold them responsible.

Holy Frankenstein!

So was that one of those things where you are in shock at first and you didn't even feel it, or did you know you just messed up the back of your head.

I just had a sharp pain in my head when I got out of the car and I put my hand on my head and when I brought it back it was covered in hair and blood. We still don't know what hit me.
