all right, how's that?

clicky map

looks like about 6 and a half hours... if we leave haymarket at 6:00am, we'll be at VIR shortly after lunch.

clicky pow!

google maps (tru, double tru) says 6 hours... with stops, breaks and gas fill ups thats probably correct. Any reason we cant leave friday evening and crash in waynesboro or somewhere? There should be plenty of daylight if we leave at ~6:30pm.

it might be possible to leave friday night, I have to ask the neighbor, and I need to see if my pet sitter can come friday night to let the dog out and feed the pets.
then we need to find a place to crash in waynesboro.

also, why did you skip skyline drive from front royal? because the state park charges?

$10 per bike, deer, park rangers, 35mph speed limit...

looking at this further, it seems that getting to waynesboro the night before only saves us a couple hours, but costs us an extra dinner out and hotel room.
and if I know us, it'll be hard to get up early saturday morning, which means we may not make it to the track any earlier.

I'd just as soon leave at 6:00am saturday morning and get to VIR at noon. Unless missing that additional couple of hours of on-track activities from saturday morning gives ya'll bad heartburn.

We'd get to the track ~2 hrs earlier I guess... I dunno, I kinda like the idea of cutting out the boring part of the ride, and getting to the track at 10am saturday.

hotel + dinner = [Image: rj.gif] but what else is new Wink

sure, we'd get to the track at 10:00am if we get up at 5:00 in waynesboro after having had dinner and beers the night before and hanging out until? then catching breakfast somewhere?

I vote we just leave on saturday. I'll put the question to Chad (the neighbor) and see what he thinks. wanna ask Gerald-san what he prefers?

if you want to. however, i also have a guest bedroom with an actual bed in it. unless you really want to sleep on the couch. Or Aidan could make some room in his crate... Wink

btw, Gerald is welcome to come crash at my place as well.

You couch is comfortable :dunno:

Although I think that means I get to wake up with a 200 lb, slobbering dog in my face...

Nice shooting RJ. Some good panning shots, got some decent perspective of motion with the slower shutter speeds. Love the capture with the flame shooting.

Same as above, with some touch up. I sorted through all the pics I took and I have about 600 worth keeping, and will probably post 20 or 30 of them.

Those girls have thicker thighs than I do.

I like how you didn't give credit for the touch-up.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth
