Wow, that thing is crazy! Lightweight, 350hp (rumor to bump it to 400hp?), and pretty freakin unique!

I checked out that company's website, they're doing some pretty cool projects. Turbo'd 'Busa powered Elise and a 500hp RWD MK2 Golf!

Oh hi, and if a turbo'd 'Busa motor in a light ass golf isn't enough for you, how about a twin GT35'd LS7 in a light ass Ultima?!? Say hello to 1011hp.

It would be hard to make a boring video of a 1000+ HP car that probably weighs 1500lbs, but wow, they did it! Almost 4 minutes worth too. Pretty much any other vid from that page is better.

Yeah I'm at work, so I can't watch it and vouch for its quality unfortunately. Is there at least some tire roasting?

Yeah, it's the car driving around in heavy traffic. REALLY exciting, I think he gets up to 35 once. He lights up the tires once or twice, nothing that couldn't be done with 1/5th the power.

Quote:The Ultima Can-Am is a sensational convertible road car that boasts exactly the same league of world beating performance envelope as that of the Ultima GTR, but in an exhilarating wind in the hair experience.
The exciting Ultima Can-Am is the result of over 20 years of extensive research and development. At the heart of every new Ultima Can-Am convertible road car is the companyÔÇÖs race-proven spaceframe chassis which, allied to purpose-built independent suspension and bespoke parts throughout, offers a level of handling and road-holding way beyond any conventional car.
Power is provided by a mid-mounted Chevrolet V8 engine mated to a Porsche transaxle. In standard 300bhp tune itÔÇÖs enough to propel the Can-Am from 0 - 60mph in under 4 seconds before posting a top speed which is best described as more than adequate! With the 600bhp and above engine option, it has been officially verified as the fastest supercar available anywhere in the world today exceeding the performance statistics of supercars such as the Bugatti Veyron, Ferrari Enzo and Mclaren F1.
The Can-Am has a full range of road car options available for fitment including a fully waterproof soft top roof which has been designed to remain watertight even at speeds exceeding 200mph, air conditioning, leather trim and sealed luggage compartments for continental touring. The Can-Am also has interchangeable front screen options.
The ultra clean look of the Can-Am and the faultless self-coloured gel coat bodywork has not been achieved through luck, but rather by design. The production car feel of the Ultima is immediately apparent, from the specially moulded headlight housings and covers to the immaculate panel fit and lack of any external body catches. Huge bespoke wheels front and back fill the arches declaring its performance potential. The sensational appearance of the car has been applauded by designers and connoisseurs alike.
Whilst the Can-Am can be ordered as a turnkey supercar, it is also available in component form, for assembly by the home enthusiast which is how the majority of our customers prefer to purchase their Can-Am. As part of the Can-AmÔÇÖs gestation period, a great deal of time was spent to ensure that this is one of the easiest cars in the world to construct by somebody with no previous mechanical or car building experience.
For an Ultima owner, having an involvement in the cars construction and thus knowledge of every nut, bolt and component on the car makes every journey in the Ultima not merely an experience but an event. The shear road presence that an Ultima commands has to be seen to be believed.
In short the Ultima is the weapon of choice for the car enthusiast that not only wants to own the fastest car on the planet but also wants to experience the intimate knowledge of the car of his desire.
The end result is a car thatÔÇÖs causing a real sensation wherever itÔÇÖs seen. Journalists worldwide have been clambering to get a seat in the car and have waxed lyrical about the Can-AmÔÇÖs unique mind blowing attributes. See our Press Quotes and Press Articles section for a summary of some of these unbiased journalist comments we have collated for your perusal.
We hope that you enjoy browsing through our comprehensive site to learn more about what we truly believe to be the greatest affordable supercar currently available worldwide, and one, which offers a truly unique experience of a lifetime.
Wow, even on a 600hp tune it's faster than any supercar in the world. I can't imagine driving that thing with 1100!

That must be a 600hp tune at like 1 lb of boost. A guy on the montecarloss.com forums put an LS7 in his SS, and it dynoed over 600hp, and all he did was a cam swap and fabbed up some headers. You'd think they'd get more than 1100 out of it with two turbas?

95bhp over stock is not bad on a stock block, it's probably very conservatively tuned. Which would be ideal for the average go fast crack head.
I'm going to go on a limb and say that the 1100hp version had a built LS7 with different compression and internals / head studs. I mean that is a lot of power for no nitrous and probably no meth injection (they probably ran race gas through it for that run though). Another thought is that those two turbos could be completely maxed out. Who knows.

Im pretty sure the above word sums it up.
That could be what it is due to space constraints. Think it said they were running 17lbs..but i wasn't sure if that was for 600, or 1100
